I know I need Full power bridge in series and neck single coil.. 2x positions on the 5 way would be used for that.. what do you guys suggest for the other 3 positions? also do you ever ever use the middle single coil by itself? Below is what i think would be the best 5 way Position 1. Full power Bridge in series Position 2 Bridge split + Middle Position 3. Bridge split + Neck Position 4. Middle + Neck Position 5. Neck PatrickE_FenderADV

I have a blender pot on one strat and a pull/push pot on another to get neck and bridge together. :aok G

Either that, or the standard: Neck Neck/middle Middle Middle/split bridge Bridge Depends on how much you love the sound of the middle pickup. bigtone23

I guess it comes down to how much you like combined pickup tones vs pure, soloed pickup tones. Your required 2 tonalities are pure tones, not quacks or twangs, so I dunno... Jim85IROC

Position 1 is the bridge in series, position 2 is the split bridge with middle, 3 is middle, 4 is middle/neck and 5 is neck. It retains as much of the normal strat tones as possible, but gives you the bridge humbucker in position 1. I like the middle positions on a strat, and while not exactly the same as the bridge/middle position on a single coil strat, it's damned close. G

My other fave is ibanez' 5way for hh guitars. Bridge bucker Inner coils parallel Both buckers Neck bucker parallel Neck bucker series You must log in or register to reply here.
