I know I need Full power bridge in series and neck single coil.. 2x positions on the 5 way would be used for that.. what do you guys suggest for the other 3 positions? also do you ever ever use the middle single coil by itself? Below is what i think would be the best 5 way Position 1. Full power Bridge in series Position 2 Bridge split + Middle Position 3. Bridge split + Neck Position 4. Middle + Neck Position 5. I have a blender pot on one strat and a pull/push pot on another to get neck and bridge together.

I guess it comes down to how much you like combined pickup tones vs pure, soloed pickup tones. Your required 2 tonalities are pure tones, not quacks or twangs, so I dunno...Jim85IROC

Position 1 is the bridge in series, position 2 is the split bridge with middle, 3 is middle, 4 is middle/neck and 5 is neck. It retains as much of the normal strat tones as possible, but gives you the bridge humbucker in position 1. I like the middle positions on a strat, and while not exactly the same as the bridge/middle position on a single coil strat, it's damned close. GGclef

My other fave is ibanez' 5way for hh guitars. Bridge bucker Inner coils parallel Both buckers Neck bucker parallel Neck bucker series You must log in or register to reply here.
