The Valve Index is IMHO absolutely worth the asking price, of you got the bucks. #1 gekco Ver perfil Ver mensajes 10 ENE 2021 a las 12:14 a. m. Right now it's either Quest 2 or spend the money for the Index. #2 cagethelonewolf Ver perfil Ver mensajes 10 ENE 2021 a las 7:14 p. m. i never know where to hold the rift s cons when i'm playing (right hand a lil ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up on the right side so that could be a cause) idk if it's due to lag, the head set it self, my poor cutting style or some weird forces at work but i just miss blocks some times i can feel the vibration of me touching it but it just doesn't slice. Maybe it's due to the lack of baystaions and behind the back tracking is still not prefect tho i think there's way to use baystions with the rift s.also low fov but that can be fixed in beat saber settings #3 Steel Ver perfil Ver mensajes 11 ENE 2021 a las 11:04 a. m. Rift S/Quest/Quest 2, whichever you can find for cheaper. I don't recommend the CV1 anymore because it's getting very old and there are no replacement cable/parts if yours break.Vive wands and Index knuckles both suck for this game. I owned CV1, could have bought anything and at the end bought Quest 2 after they released link update, and I must say for Best Saber right now it's extremely good. I even thought about getting HP Reverb G2 just for simming but after seeing image quality in Q2 with new link just canceled my preorder.Index is nice too as a package, but it already asks for upgrade in visuals and in my room I could have problems with lighthouses (have lot's of glass around). I'd not seriously consider Rift S anymore again due to visuals, refresh rate, audio and a wobbly halo mount (could be an issue in Beat Saber for someone) - Q2 beats it now in everything, except price.. maybe.Fair to say I've a made a FrankenQuest 2 as standard Quest 2 user experience is not so great in comfort and audio. HTC DAS + Q2 + link (non-original) + VR Cover facial interface is a great combo which at the end is still cheaper than Index but with better visuals and really great tracking and comfort for Beat Saber. Potential problems are Facebook account and IPD adjustment, but nothing really critical there, at least for me.And as a nice bonus I can take Q2 with me on business trips and play Beat Saber in the hotels. Yes, I'm that addicted :) Última edición por Angry Russian; 13 ENE 2021 a las 2:14 p. m. #5 Nathunder Ver perfil Ver mensajes 13 ENE 2021 a las 12:39 a. m. index 100% #6 Soto Ver perfil Ver mensajes 13 ENE 2021 a las 4:04 p. m. Laptop probably can't handle PCVR.So you're probably going with Quest 2 for the standalone. #7 valrond Ver perfil Ver mensajes 22 FEB 2021 a las 11:11 a. m.

This. Best tracking and 144. Once you play that, the rest is trash. #8 Vertro_BlazeGaming Ver perfil Ver mensajes 23 FEB 2021 a las 1:27 p. m. basically anything newer, because with updates the older headsets have gotten worse, even though as a developer they SHOULD be optimising the versions to be able to suit older headsets.but if they want to make a fairly low minimum spec game, need the max specs in order to run without lag or latency with tracking then, No stop #9 Kazzamkablam Ver perfil Ver mensajes 25 FEB 2021 a las 8:03 a. m. Quest 2 if you mostly play beat saber because of lighter controllers, Index if you plan on playing other stuff as well. #10 Private Ver perfil Ver mensajes 25 FEB 2021 a las 6:07 p. m. With beat saber refresh rate is by far the most important, so valve index is the obvious choice

This is not true, headsets don't get worse with updates, only better as they're optimizing them. #11 Angry Russian Ver perfil Ver mensajes 25 FEB 2021 a las 10:54 p. m.

Tell that to all top 10 Beat Saber players in the world who are mostly on CV1 and Rift S ;) Actually if you go through top 50 you'll see that 80% of them are not on Index.Refresh rate is very overrated for Beat Saber and although it indeed gives more smooth visuals, controllers weight and comfort is by far most important for Beat Saber. E.g Silverhaze and Garsh being top players on Index are not using above 90 Hz as it for some reason give them tracking problems. Index controllers are quite heavy limiting the wrist play on fast sections. All around Index seems great headset, but for really competitive Beat Saber not so much, at least with current speed meta. Things may indeed change when ppv3 comes out, but we are not there yet.Quest 2 is relatively new so not many players on them are in the top yet, but they are getting there. It has even lighter controllers than CV1, although ergonomics and grip choices are worse than CV1. You exaggerated the numbers there a bit, there are lots of top players using the index too, it's a fairly equal distribution. The point is that for the top players in the world the headset they use doesn't really matter it's more about skills, which proves nothing for our discussion, also almost every index user is at 144hz, stops spreading disinformation, it doesn't affect tracking whatsoever. If you're not one of the best players in the world however, refresh rate is the most important thing, and the index controllers are the most comfortable for new players as they don't even have to grip. #13 Angry Russian Ver perfil Ver mensajes 26 FEB 2021 a las 10:08 a. m.

Well I've said that overall Index is great for general VR, but for Beat Saber it's just too heavy and nothing you can do about it until some new lighter controllers are released. And no, most competitive players don't use 144 Hz, 120 Hz getting used at most as with 144 Hz on Beat Saber Unity engine lag spikes are just inevitable, one may not feel them at the beginning, but will start to feel them when reading ability gets developed. As for the tracking you can feel the difference in m2f time as it keeps the same but more frames will let you perceive the delay more than at 90 Hz, and everyone react to this differently. I guess I needed to be precise that problem is not tracking but perception of tracking and possible lags.Have a look at cerret plays, he is on CV1 with note spawn distance of 17-19 and playing crazy fast maps not limited by 90 Hz in any way. So 144 Hz will not give you any advantage at start on relatively slow things, but extra weight of the controllers will definitely give a disadvantage at first. There is even a meme now "index moment" when some map can't be easily passed due to heavy controllers.Index tracking is also definitely not perfect as it is being sensitive to reflective surfaces, and some people just can't get rid of them in their places. CV1 tracking is either perfect, or horrible, for some it's too unstable, for some it's just faultless. Also quality of Index controllers is very questionable. Silverhaze cracked his recent one just by squeezing it, his previous one had a loose piece inside and just started floating after a while. So no, I guess I'll never agree with you, there are better options right now than old visuals and heavy controllers, especially considering question is being asked in Beat Saber thread. Valve's Index with the awesomely precise lighthouse tracking and the high refresh rate display (up to 144 hz) should be the best. But personally i prefer the Oculus Touch controllers. Not because they have better tracking (they don't), but because they imho feel better. But after all it's personal preference. From the technical point of view everything that's using lighthouse tracking should be optimal.
