Anyone have any experience with BH Bikes, specifically the 2008 G4. I would love to know some verified weights as well as ride reports. The claimed weight is 880 grams. Thanks in advance. Top online User avatar dwaharvey Posts: 470 Joined: Thu Oct 26, 2006 8:54 pm Location: USA

I can't comment on the G4, but my friend has the Global concept G3 and really loves it. Seems to be stiff yet comfortable. We bought the frame from the distributor and I built it up for him. I didn't weigh the frame unfortunately, so I can't comment on whether it is in line with claims. As usual, the ISP seatpost adds weight if anything - the post weighed as much as a standard one, and the collar was a pig too. From a construction quality standpoint the finish of the outside was very good.... however there was one glaring issue: the finish of the inside of the headtube was very rough. You know how some molded carbon frames have sharp ridges that stick up...? Well this had one that was so big that I couldn't actually get the fork to go in.... I had to sand it down with a dremel. Seemed a bit of an eyebrow raiser to me, but my friend is nevertheless very happy with the bike as I said. Top online

Pretty much a repeat of the above. Previous model owner and very happy with the geometry and construction. I used alot of the measurements off my BH when I had my Ruegamer made. Top online XCProMD Posts: 1141 Joined: Sat Jan 26, 2008 10:25 am Location: Cantabria

Funny american riders are discovering the brand so many spaniards learned to ride on. My first ride was a red BH, as 50% of the spanish population. The other 50% learned with Orbeas, they weren't macho enough for an iron made BH. XD Top online czvekslak Posts: 312 Joined: Fri Jul 14, 2006 12:26 am

I have one of the first G4's in the country ( I live in Tucson about 90 minutes from the US distributor in Chandler) and can say the weight on my home scale was 870gm for a 54cm... I have it built with SRAM red & Mavic R-Sys wheels. With everything to include Polar speed & cadence, pedals and cages it weighs in at 14.5lbs... I am even using heavy training tires and toughy tire liners (lots of cactus thorns in S AZ) with that weight... It handles very tight and descends like a dream.. I have been on the BH Connect for the past 6 months and it is less tight and about 1 lb heavier... I was on the Orbea Orca for about a year before that and both BH's are stiffer and handle much tighter... The front end on the G4 is built lower then the Connect.. With the same stem, bars, and saddle the G4 is 4cms lower then the Connect (9cm and 5 cm top of the saddle to the top of the bars).. So if you are looking for an upright position you need to look else where... Very aggressive... Over all ride I give an A+ very resposive/ no issues hands free taking off a vest/ stiff in the sprint.. Top online
