Several of the sex scenes between the main couple are dubcon or rape. The bottom says no/stop a lot, the top forces multiple rounds of sex on the bottom, and some of the scenes the top is angry and forceful.

(IIRC the top also holds him captive at some point and rapes him? I will have to go back at some point and skim through the story more thoroughly.)

If there was a story that needed an editor to compel the author to structure and flesh out the story better, Big Apple would be it. Season 1 really went nowhere except to establish that our uke (Joachim) has painfully low self-esteem issues. Season 2 showed that there was a point to it all that didn't get hinted at in Season 1 beyond some mention of some lord who'd take matters into her own hands if people didn't do their jobs better.

How nice it would have been if some editor had sat down the author/artist to say, Hons, your story has so much potential, especially in terms of world building. Loads of potential there. I imagine you have some compelling drivers for the characters' choices, right? What are they? What shaped those drivers? OK, now, let's figure out the different arcs. What is the overriding conflict? Why does this matter? What would be at risk if the protagonists failed? What are the various stages of conflict, drivers for the progression? Well, we should move that way plot point forward in the series, so people will realize earlier that there's something much bigger and worthwhile at stake. We need them to care about the world, not just Joachim's self-confidence issues and fear of rejection/commitment, which do need resolution, but each stage of the conflict should allow him to grow. Can't wait to see the next draft! It'll be so exciting!

it got good artsyle, yes, however the structure of the story was disorganized and lacked a decent narration, making the entire story deficient and uninteresting...reaching ch. 44 was definitely my limit forcing to like the story. lol

Season 1 is literally all smut. Zero plot. I'm taking smut every 2 chapters. Second season is them trying to fit in as much plot as possible. No balance whatsoever

Ok. So. It was really cool, after the 1st season I was really close to giving it a 7, BUT 2nd season was way better (if we forget about stupid decision-making mc). Most of the smut scenes were DEFINITELY too much, completely out of place, ruining the flow and EW just too much (skipped some). BUT! After all the plot was really cool, mixing the "normal" people and those totally out of our world. Also the disproportion of power that was filled by the strong will, great. Idk the more I try to think what i really feel about it, the more positive things I find. GOOD READ!

This story was absolutely wonky and supremely confusing, and told in such a nonsensical way. Espers that mean nothing, New York city lords, magic, SIA... WTF. We never get any explanation about any of this and left me flabbergasted. And the Knight Templars, what do they want? Why all the fuss? Why did they want to kill the uke? Even if it makes sense on paper, the mannhwa did such a way job of conveying all of this.

Problem nunber two. Uke. He's pathologically afraid of commintment and asks like trash towards the seme, which is a solid plot point, but WHY? We need background, we need to understand why he is acting like this. There are some feeble excluses but they only made me mad and put him on my UKE-DISLIKE list immidiately. Seme was a bit better, I could understand him most of the time.

The worst part is that the main story point was actually pretty good! I won't poil it, but seme has a big job to do, and he keeps avoiding it and puts everybody is a bind because of that reluctance. But the narrative is so, so bad you never actually get a sense of this pretty nifty story. Everything is lost in a convoluted narrative, in superfluous and unnecessary side gigs, and paper thin world-building.

What I liked about this was the superb art. Really enjoyed the look of both uke and seme. Too bad nothing else makes sense here. The uke-seme relationship had some cute moments... But not a rec.

When I started reading the manga, I didn't take a look at the genres except it being yaoi and action. So I was very surprised to find out it's a combination of gun action and magic!

The good points: Interesting and unique storyline, logical and good ending, you get to see lots of guns and fights and lots of blood, mostly harmonic relationship between the main characters, interesting characters and character designs, stunning art

The bad points: Some parts of the story were a bit confusing (e.g. I still don't understand what is the job of the SIA), smut scenes would often drag on over several chapters (though I guess some people would be happy about that, but for me it was too much and at some point I skipped most scenes), even though Jürgen is nice, sometimes he would get on my nerve for being the way he is, I didn't understand Joachim's missions at all (small spoiler:

Why is he supposed to kill this man? Why didn't he die even though it looked like it? Does it even matter at all whether Joachim succeeds or not? The whole mission thing seemed to be pointless except for the sole reason of being dangerous )

I wish we would've gotten to know more about side characters like Robert, Esper, Wind Mage and maybe the boss of the SIA. I could totally imagine an alternative story about them. All in all it's a good webtoon, so go ahead and read it if you like action and some magic 🙂
