Hi buddy, You could well do some damage to your engine... The BLS engine has small crank journals/rods as can’t really handle a lot of power, if you want to stick with diesel then it might make more sense to start with the ASZ / ARL engine. Downside is these will most likely be from a car older than your van. The general consensus is not to push the BLS beyond ~150 BHP (injectors max out ~170 BHP anyway)without some serious engine upgrades and expense. The ASZ has a large journal crank and stronger rods (the engines are much stronger and suitable for 300 BHP). After chatting to the guys at Darkside... The standard ASZ cam is good for up to 260 BHP, you’ll need a performance one after that. You could just fit a used engine straight in, with a turbo upgrade without having to change injectors, etc and get ~240 BHP. You'll need to change the camshaft pulley and drill a hole in the block from the crank sensors, but apart from that the ASZ is a straight forward fit. They recommend going with the ASZ stock engine. - and use a 02Q gearbox from a MK5 golf (you'll need starter motor, gearbox and shafts + gearbox mount but well worth it) The standard 5 speeds really aren't good especially beyond 200 BHP. OR.... 2.0 TFSI swap (was going down this route a few weeks ago, however, back on the diesel upgrades) OR 3.2 V6 from an R32 or Audi. I’m just waiting on the country opening up a little to start collecting parts/buying a donor vehicle. This is just what I’ve found out and might not 100% correct as I’m still in the early stages of upgrading the power on my van, hopefully others will be able to confirm Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2010 pre-facelift Mk3 3.2 VR6 : Touran Interior : Virtual Cockpit : R32 Bumper : Climatic A/C : Air Suspension : Xenon Headlights My VR6 Build Thread and Details can be Found Here Top User avatar R22LRM 200BHP+ Posts: 293 Joined: Sun Aug 20, 2017 7:29 pm Engine size/power: 2.0 Stage 3+ TFSI

I’ve just fitted a gt1752v hybrid to my bls & she pulls like a train. Probably running about 150bhp. Like you say it would benefit from a 6 speed conversion & pd injectors, I could probably get a safe 180bhp then after a custom map. This is a cheaper than doing a tfsi / r32 conversion.
