Good to see that in Oz. Goes along with me being told that it will be VERY price competitive here in the USA. However we will know for sure soon. :-)

Sat on it at Mosport yesterday , and it is a significant bike in that it did not feel like a small bike. Had nice instrumentation and very comfortable ergos. Ideal around town bike and backroads fun machine. At $5200 CDN it is only $200 more than a CBR300F! c

I want to have something I can run around town on, commute to work on but yet not feel like a massive Russian Dancing Bear while riding it!! Every time I have sat on any of the other already available 300's in shops, the bikes nearly collapse under my massive self. I will have to see the new BMs in the flesh and hopefully test ride one before deciding if it will work for me. My secondary agenda with a bike is to try and get my adult daughter interested in learning to ride or to have around for friends wishing to learn. Looking forward to "winter'!!!!

@mjfields_228 - From what I've read, you might need some heavier "Russian Dancing Bear" springs. :lol3

Reviews are starting to come in. Good tires, handles well, poor gearbox and lots of vibrations above 6k rpm.

http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/us/en/index.html Pricing is $4,750. Honestly this bike is a great deal if the CB300F had ABS the BMW would only be $200 more this maybe my next bike but the Versys 300 though...

I think BMW priced it pretty well for the category.

I saw both the R and the GS version today at a motorcycle show. The R is dandy little bike. very comfortable, easy on and off and very nice quality. The GS is of course 2 inches taller, it has a kick up and luggage rack on the back so it is a little more effort t to get on but still only 32 inches tall. the GS is a little more upright but both are very comfy. The GS has a beak and small fairing and windshield just the bigger GS's. It seemed easier to get on and better finished than the 390 Duke. The bike is nothing like the cheap china bikes. It is a well engineered new design. I was impressed with both versions. I was thinking about a Honda 500x but this seems handier for camping and better components. I might buy one as a fun around town and back roads bike. I was also thinking of an XT250 but this would be more comfortable and more powerful and in the same weight and price range.

I agree. Seems like the bike would do well in 55mph (86kays per hour) roads that are all over the place in North America. 10 minute bouts at 70mph Interstate (112kmph) speeds will be no sweat. The GS version could be a good commuter for a lot of folks. The initial pro rider reviews should further convenience me that 300cc is the lowest displacement for functional riding. EFI and 35hp is all you need for 1up riding for the under 175lbs crowd. 80kgs. The only big con is engine life. Those are a lot of rpms for a thumper. But maybe that is the price you pay for a sub 374lbs bike ( that handles like a regular bike) that can do 200miles . 321 Kay's.

They had one on display at the local dealer, but for display only - BMW had it disabled! Overall, looks pretty nice. 20170708_111159.jpg

I find it odd that the CB300F doesn't even have an ABS option in the USA while it only comes with ABS in Canada. Anyway the G310R is $5249 here ($6500 OTD) vs $5099 for the CB300F ($6300 OTD) without haggling although Honda is offering $1000 off the CB300F this month.

AKA, the KTM nightmare. Pinpointing the arrival date of the Baby G reminds me of a terrible football chant I used to hear back in high school. "Push 'em back, push 'em back. Waaay back!"

My wife has one on order here in Denver. Our expected delivery date has continued to creep back a month at a time since early this spring. The last word we got from our dealer here was that the Demo bikes wouldn't make it to the dealers until mid/late July, with inventory following a couple weeks after that. My personal opinion is that we might be lucky to see one by late August at this point. September doesn't seem improbable either. The explanation we got was that after the bikes were built in India, they were then sent to Germany, to then be QC'd, to then put back on a boat back to the USA. Regardless of whether true or not, we are now considering withdrawing our order and letting the G310 work out its 1st year growing pains on its own. Since we have already missed most of the events we had hoped to attend this year, no sense having it sit in the barn through the snowy months. Even having put a deposit down, I for sure would not buy one until I had a chance to take the G310 for a test ride; hence - having delayed demo bikes at the dealers isn't helping the situation.
