lebo1965 L Had a 2017 C63s coupe ,as a lease for 6 months and returned it 30 days ago . The car is a beast with a beast engine , but is not comfortable on long trips and already have a "not very comfortable car " which is a 991 GT3 . I am replacing my CLS500 which is my daily car and need an alternative that is fun , extremely powerful but comfortable also . Sensibly i should get the M550i , but i am worried in making a wrong choice against the sexy C63 coupe and get bored with the car ... everyone tells me that i already have a sports car , the M550is is the logical choice . Don't know about this ,,anyone had a choice to drive or own both or has jumped from one car to another ?. thanks for your input #1 · Aug 30, 2017 Had a 2017 C63s coupe ,as a lease for 6 months and returned it 30 days ago . If you are a coupe type of guy/gal, the transition might be a bit difficult. I'm not too worried about the creature comforts provided in the car as they appear to be the best in the business right now. The seats are superb and the overall cabin is designed just for the scenario you described. M550i speed -- not so much of an issue either. Its the size and weight that I think might slow down your adjustment/transition from coupe to sedan. Find a G30 and take it for test drive. It will give you a good idea of the length of the car, the weight turning corners, and overall visibility. If you are questioning the speed of the car, I recommend test driving a M550 or 540 x drive at a minimum. If size and comfort are your concerns, test driving any G30 will do. I had some initial hesitations but have now moved on without looking back. #3 · Aug 30, 2017 Thanks for the link and input . I had tested the BMW m550i and was extremely impressed with the acceleration , comfort and technology . the acceleration is even faster than the c63 due to the x-drive system , the only 2 issues that i didn't like is that ; its a bit too soft in comfort mode and it looks like any 5 series and you really can't distinguish it from the rest , in other words wanted it to be a bit more aggressive looking . Thats why i posted this thread to see if anyone went through this transition and if he regretted his move from the c63 with the exhaust and the symphonic engine . #4 · Aug 30, 2017 Why not get the new E63 or M5? #5 · Aug 30, 2017 unfortunately M5 needs another 4 months and an extra 40,000 USD ( according to dealer here ) , E63 is in the 50,000 USD here . Need a car as a daily driver with a specific budget m550i and c63 are similar in price budget for me #6 · Aug 30, 2017 Get the M550 and get it wrapped in some crazy ass color. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=...hread.php?t=706776&psig=AFQjCNF6VwJSIkbB1lbz06XTrBEE1ZjIsQ&ust=1504202205709793 #7 · Aug 30, 2017 Or just add a tune to the 550 #8 · Aug 31, 2017 (Edited)

Exactly right. I have no idea why do you even care what you drive to go to the office - as long as it has stellar AC, considering where you are. Anything you pick out of the cars you mentioned will be bleah! after you get your behind out of the GT3. Why bother? Get a cheapest car that meets all your must haves (AC, seats, brand prestige you might need ... and so on) and be done with it. They will all suck/be boring when compared to driving experience from a dedicated sports car. #9 · Aug 31, 2017 well thank you for your opinion but any car won't do for me and that is why i am / you are are on a m550i thread question :) i need a 2nd car ( besides my gt3 ,which is a dedicated track car ) that gives me power , comfort and new technology , even for a daily driver . Hate and can't drive boring cars #10 · Aug 31, 2017 M550ix. I also have track cars - and the M550ix is quick enough (12.20's at 115 MPH) and uber luxury (way more than my E63S). I was goign to go new M5 once its released - but I am really enjoying this car. Good luck with your decision. 1 Reply #11 · Aug 31, 2017 thanks , it seems we are in similar choices of cars Looks like 550i for me #12 · Aug 31, 2017 (Edited) A C63 in your garage is great, but a C63 when parked next to a GT3 becomes largely redundant. And I say this as someone who has owned and enjoyed a c63. FYI, carefully read through the threads here detailing the shortcomings of the G30's air conditioning. Lots of complaints about it failing to maintain a cool cabin, which I presume is of prime importance for someone driving in Dubai. #13 · Aug 31, 2017 Air-conditioning in cars here is the most important option you have to have and should work properly ...forget all options about the car , this is the most important #14 · Aug 31, 2017 Actually AC is awesome - you just have to know how to use it. default settings are weak - but you can control the fan settings even on auto - and they are excellent. Show more replies 0 Reply #19 · Aug 31, 2017 I tested out a brand new 2018 M550i and was wondering what was wrong with the AC. The car never got to a comfortable temp. This is in the summer in St. Pete Florida but it shouldn't be that complicated to set a temp and get the car to cool off. Insert Quotes Post Reply
