https://www.airliners.net/photo/South-K ... 8I/6698515Thanks for posting the update on the new Korean Air Force 1. Lovely livery. It really speaks to why several key nations and royals insist on the Queen as their state aircraft. I still am bewildered why the Saudi Royals don't employ their 748 as the Royal Aircraft. The two holers don't fit the image. Top

Triumph reported their results today:https://seekingalpha.com/pr/18663950-tr ... 22-resultsRelevant tidbit:"We secured over $2.0 billion in new contracts this fiscal year and completed two important portfolio milestones: the exit of our last 747-8 production facility and the announced sale of our Stuart, Florida operation..."For all intents and purposes, that (important) part of supply chain is no longer there.Nails in the coffin. A bit more on Triumph quarterly results in their analyst call:https://seekingalpha.com/article/448553 ... transcriptSome relevant parts:David StraussYes, thank you, Barclays. Jim, the $166 million in non-recurring cash items in what does that bucket look like in 2023?James McCabeYes, thanks, David. Well, what I can tell you is what's going on the current year. We got $28 million of those in the current quarter, $21 million of liquidation of advances. $8 million on 747 funding. 747 shipped out due some production is complete, we have some shipments in the first half of this year. So there'll be some wrap up on 747, but that shouldn't be that large. The advances at the end of December were about a $124 million. And we've already, we've spent our $21 million in liquidation in Q4. So we're down right now at this point in time about $103 million event. And then between now and when we announced the Stuart closure, we'll be able to tell you more about what the timing of the liquidation the remaining events will be.Myles WaltonOkay. On 747, you are applying the cash cost or non-recurring cash costs are going to be higher in 2023 than 2022?James McCabeNo, no. They're winding down, there's going to be some residual as we close up the remaining factory where we're storing them and shipping them from, but it was only $8 million in this quarter and it'll be less moving forward.Apparently, while they did close production of 747 components/structures, and are selling off the real estate... some 747 structures continue to be shipped, and they book assorted charges in the process. So technically Triumph still seems to be in 747 business for now -- "while the stocks last", that is. Top

They no longer make them, and they no longer own the facility as well. However, according to the analyst call, they continue to ship those parts -- i.e. there are some already made parts, that remain to be shipped, on stock. For analysts, this is relevant, as items and money change hands, and this affects financials.I frankly don't believe there are "undocumented spares" that would allow to build more airplanes than already ordered. Two public companies (Triumph and Boeing) pulling that sort of trick with 0 reporting, doesn't sound right...But stranger things have happened. Top747classic wrote:What parts does Triumph produce? So until Boeing loads the last 747-8 into the FAL, Triumph will have some parts in their inventory awaiting shipment to PAE. Top

N632UP had another PAE-PAE flight yesterday, for about half hour.https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/boe695Delivery must be close.speaking of which -- with six frames remaining to be delivered, and Atlas and Boeing communications saying last deliveries are in October, a major speeding up is due, or October is not happening. with approximately two months per remaining frame, December looks more like it Top
