ESF LNY Art Competition!ESF Lunar New Year Art Competition!
Design a Red Packet or Greeting Card for Lunar New Year for the chance to be chosen by ESF and distributed throughout the our group of schools! All submissions will be displayed at school and sold to the Discovery College community for a charity chosen by the Art Captains in the final week before LNY (Feb 9th-13th). Both Primary and Secondary are encouraged to participate! 5 winners from both divisions will be chosen and sent to ESF!
Submission Deadline: January 23rd, 3:30 pm
Primary submit designs to Ms. Duckett in 1C1.
Secondary submit designs to Mr. Lester in 5D2 and Ms. Mitchell in 5E2.
Design time is available for Secondary students in 5D2 during Snack and Lunch break from January 12-23. Primary must complete this outside of school.

High Jump qualification at lunch timeStudents who signed up for High Jump on Sports Day will come to the 2nd floor gym at lunch time on the following days for qualification:
Year 7 - Monday 12 Jan
Year 8 - Tuesday 13 jan
Year 9 - Wednesday 14 Jan
Year 10 - Thursday 15 Jan
Year 11/12/13 - Friday 16 Jan
The top 5 male and female students in each year will qualify to compete on Sports Day.
Please come to the gym at the start of lunchtime. You will get time to eat your lunch after your jumps.

- The Coffee Academics – offering speciality coffee, tea, delicious hot chocolate, cookies, and cakes.
- Ding Ba – a Michelin Bib Gourmand eatery serving traditional Taiwanese street food snacks.
- La Casa Catering – serving mains in the on-site restaurant, along with hot dogs, nachos, and other yummy bites and healthy snacks at their tuck shop and snack booth.
- Silk – offering high-quality artisanal fruit and bubble tea.
- Ga – offering high-quality baked goods.
- Bake Sale – delicious treats from Mother’s Choice volunteers.

Would you like to be a tour guide for a school open day?Each year, we invite students to volunteer as tour guides, to show interested parents around the campus when we have open days.
This is a chance to talk with parents about what you enjoy about the school, show them our facilities and answer their questions.
Our next open day is on Saturday 17th January, 10:30 - 12:00. If you are interested in supporting, please complete this form:

Most of our Open Days are on a Tuesday, and take place during lesson time. If you cannot make our next open day, and would like to be considered for future events, look out for messages about this.

Hong Kong Young Writers Award 2026The Hong Kong Young Writers Awards (HKYWA) is an annual competition for aspiring writers to showcase their creativity in fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Your entry should be based on the theme for 2026, New Tales of China’s Silk Road. Please visit HKYWA website for more information. One winner will be chosen in each of the groups, and one lucky student will be named The Hong Kong Young Writer of 2026. To participate, please email your entries to Ms Lam by 14th January, 2026.

Sign Up now open
Trials for badminton teams will be held: Thursday 15th January at 3:30pm - 5:30pm in the 2F Gym. Please bring your own racquets. SIGN UP HERE
Badminton trials are for experienced competitive players as you need to be capable of refereeing matches along with playing at a high level against other international schools.
If you are not at competition level yet, please do not sign-up the trials. We recommend trying Badminton lessons if you are new to the sport first.
The ISSFHK Season will run from February 2nd to March 24th, 2026 and we have entered 4 teams (listed below) of 6 - 9 players plus 1 reserve player, in each team.
