The infamous Bún Chả Hương Liên, the place where President Obama shared a meal with Anthony Bourdain back in 2016 for his Parts Unknown program, has since been immortalized and the very table that they sat on has been framed up as well.

Diners will usually order the Combo Obama, which was what the president ate during the meal which comes with a bun cha, nem hai san and a bottle of Hanoi beer. The bun cha, in my honest opinion and after many days of eating from different stalls, is nothing amazing and definitely not the best that we have tried. The grilled pork has the smoky aroma and was well marinated but it didn’t wow us as much, probably due to our high expectations prior to eating. The nem hai san is a fried seafood roll which comes packed with prawn, crab, pork and vegetable filling. Bun Cha Huong Lien doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks are deceptive.

This fried seafood roll encapsulates this point in a its nondescript outer covering, and only let's you in on its greatness when you break it open. It's stuffed with legit crab meat, Prawns, pork and other goodies that lend tremendous flavour when you finally chow down. Other than the classic Bun Cha, this one is a Must-have!
