DS Steve Arnott and DC Kate Fleming visit the site to re-examine evidence from the September 5th Ambush. After viewing items removed from the burnt out car driven by DS Jayne Akers, they realise that a tracking device was affixed to the vehicle, leading them to believe that the culprits were not tracking DI Lindsay Denton after all.

However, immediately after discovering this, they are accosted by DCS Lester Hargreaves and several uniformed officers, who demand that they leave the premises. Arnott confronts Hargreaves, questioning why the Major Violent Crime Unit failed to disclose to AC-12 that a tracking device was found on the vehicle that was attacked. After a brief standoff, he and DC Kate Fleming leave the premises.
