The C7A2 is an upgraded variant of a domestically-produced Canadian version of the American M16A2 rifle. Unlike the American original, it has several upgraded components, the ability to fire fully automatically, and is fully ambidextrous. As a standard, the weapon is issued with a C79A2 3.4x magnification weapon sight and is zeroed from 200m to 800m, in 100m increments. Some Canadian military units allow for privately purchased optics to be used in addition to the backup iron sights issued in the event the optic is damaged.

Gameplay
The C7A2's magazine holds up to 30 rounds.
It has 2 fire modes, fully-automatic or semi-automatic.
The sights available for the C7A2 are the iron sights, ET552 holographic sight, and C79A2 (3.4×) scope.
The iron sights can be zeroed for different ranges (from 100-400 meters.)
The ET552 holographic sight provides a clear sight picture in the center and peripheral vision, but it can't be zeroed, limiting the long-range effectiveness.
The C79A2 (3.4×) optic makes it easier to target and engage enemies at longer ranges without the need to zero the weapon. The zeroing of the C79A2 (4×) scope can be adjusted from 100 meters to 800 meters, further enhancing its long-range precision.
The C7A2 is a well-balanced weapon with adequate damage, effective range, and bullet dispersion performance.
The C7A2 shares its damage model and ballistic performance with C8A3, M4A1, and M16A4.
The 833 rounds per minute rate of fire sits above average for most fully-automatic weapons. It can output serious firepower in close-quarters combat but it makes the gun more difficult to control if the trigger is held down continuously.
The C7A2 is classified in-game as a Full-Length Rifle. Full-Length Rifles have increased standing sway while offering better crouch/prone position stability in handling.
They output regular suppression effects, are slightly hard to point fire, and are effective at medium to long ranges.
Some C7A2 variants have a vertical foregrip attached. However, the Foregrip attachment is cosmetic and does not improve the gun handling as of Version 6.0.
History
The C7 is a Canadian variant of the AR-15 and has a similar design and function to the M16A3. In Canadian service, all C7A2 rifles come equipped with C79A2 sights as standard. The C7 has both semi-automatic and fully automatic fire modes. The C7 also features structural strengthening, improved handguards, and longer stock developed for the M16A2. The selector lever, magazine release, and charging handle latch are ambidextrous. The C7A2 is issued with green color furniture as standard.
Trivia
Before Beta 20, the C7A2 and C8A3 were the most controllable infantry weapons in the game, giving Canadian infantry an immense advantage in firefights.
This was changed in later patches. After Beta 20, the C7A2 has comparable recoil to the M16A4, while the C8A3 has comparable recoil to the M4A1. After V6.0, all Full-Length Rifles have the same recoil.
In the Beta 20, the variant with iron sights was added, and the ability for the C79A2 (4×) to be zeroed for shooting at 200-800 meters was added.
In Version 8.0, C79A2 (4×) scope zeroing was changed to between 100-800 meters.
