GIỚI THIỆU

WHOSE

In the party, I met a girl whose eyes were so nice that I could still see them in my dreams many days after that.

Nghĩa là: The girl’s eyes were so nice.

Không dùng: I met a girl her eyes were so nice…

Ví dụ 2:

There was me and there was Kate, whose party it was, and then there were two other people.

Nghĩa là: It was Kate’s party.

On the way to the forest, we saw a water buffalo whose horns were very long.

Nghĩa là: The buffalo’s horns were very long.

Đây là mệnh đề xác định; sở hữu của con vật.

Ví dụ 4:

It is a rambling Tudor house, whose sitting room looks out over a wonderful walled garden.

Nghĩa là: The sitting room of the house looks out over …

That’s Peter, whose brother I used to play with.

Nghĩa là: I used to play with Peter’s brother
