It has me contemplating my next set of cans and wondering how the hd6xx compare in sound signature and overall performance. Schiit Lyr 3 with Multibit - Meze Empyrean, Audeze LCD2C, Aeon Open X Astell&Kern sp2000t, - Westone es60, Inearz p450s, Ue-5c, ue-11 pro, AAw Q Past earphones.-Akg K7xx, Sennheiser HD 650,Fostex TH-X00 Purpleheart w/ teak cups, Akg K553 ProSony ex51, sony ex71, shure e2c, shure e3c, shure e5c,ES2, other cheap buds. Past Player -A&K se200,A&K Se100, Fiio M11, pioneer xdp-100r, pod classic 160gb, ipod classic 120gb, Creative Zen vision M, Ipod 3g,4g,5g,5,5g. Past amps- Schiit Modi Multibit- Vali 2-RSA Tomahawk, Pico amp/dac, RSA Hornet.

Joined Aug 21, 2016 Posts 361 Likes 83 You don't necessarily have to prefer one. For a number of years I had the HD650 and the AKG K701. If I wanted to be analytical, I'd use the 701s. If I wanted to be caught up in the music, I'd use the 650s. The 650s got more play, but the 701s served a function. One other thing - the AKGs are very light, and I can wear them for longer periods of time than the 650s. Of the phones I own, only the Sennheiser 590s are more comfortable. I wear glasses. I plan on having several pairs of cans eventually as i do for portable serup and custom iems. I am not always in the mood for the same sound signature. Now i just need to find a pair.
