Carefree Sect

This sect doctrine is " Riding on heaven and earth, governing the 6 elements, roaming endlessly, that is carefree."(Chapter 31 ) Its top martial arts include Divine Skill of Northen Darkness, Graceful Step upon the Waves, Six Solar Palms of TianShan, Plum Breaking Hand of TianShan, and Eternal Youth of Never Ageing Skill.

This sect is also known for its specialty in mechanism and traps. In addition, Wu Yazi had many miscellaneous skills such as zither, chess, calligraphy, painting, medicine, divination and astrology, arts, crafts, finance and commerce, plants, and pottery Chapter 30 . He lay down the rule to his two disciples Su XingHe and Ding ChunQiu that anybody who wished to be the next leader must compete in all these skills, causing Ding Chunqiu to ambush him.

XiaoYao Zi

The founder of Carefree Sect and the master of WuYa Zi, Tianshan Tonglao and Li Qiushui. Very skilled in the martial arts judging by his disciples and the martial arts he passed down.

WuYa Zi

The second leader of Carefree Sect and skilled in various areas. Used the 'Divine Art of the Northern Darkness' (北冥神功) the 'Minor Formless Skill' (小無相功) and ‘Six Solar Palms of TianShan' (天山六陽掌). Due to getting ambushed by Ding Chunqiu and Li Qiushui, he became crippled but had extremely profound inner energy.

Tianshan Tonglao

The ruler of Vulture Peak and elder martial sister to WuYa Zi and Li Qiushui. Used the 'Never Ageing Eternal Youth Skill' (天長地久不老長春法), the 'Six Solar Palms of Tianshan' the 'Plum Breaking Hands of Tianshan' (天山折梅手) and the 'Life-Death Talisman' (生死符). Fire deviated in her youth due to Li Qiushui, causing her to temporarily lose her powers and become a child every 30 years. Love rivals with Li Qiushui.

Li Qiushui

The younger martial sister to WuYa Zi and Tianshan Tonglao, also the Empress Dowager of Xixia. Was formerly married to WuYa Zi and only took Ding Chunqiu as a lover in order to make him jealous. Pre-empted WuYa Zi, causing him to become an invalid. Had two horizontal and two vertical lines cut into her face by Tianshan Tonglao and taught the 'Minor Formless Skill' to WuYa Zi (probably learned the 'Divine Art of the Northern Darkness' in return). Used the 'Divine Art of the Northern Darkness', 'Minor Formless Skill', 'Minute Steps Upon Towering Waves' (凌波微步), the 'Palm of the White Rainbow' (白虹掌), and the 'Turtle Breathing Skill' (龜息功).

Ding Chunqiu

The renegade disciple of WuYa Zi who ambushed him and pushed him into a deep ravine. Used the 'Great Energy Dissolving Skill' (化功大法) to prevent opponents from exerting inner energy.

Su Xinghe

The eldest disciple of WuYa Zi, but had worse martial art than Ding Chunqiu due to learning various extra skills. Killed by Ding Chunqiu with poison.

Xu Zhu

The youngest disciple of WuYa Zi, he possesses >90% the inner energy of WuYa Zi, Tianshan Tonglao and Li Qiushui combined. Sworn brothers with Duan Yu and Xiao Feng.

Martial Arts[]

The Carefree Sect is widely acknowledged to be the greatest sect under heaven, possessing a multitude of powerful skills and manuals of the martial arts of almost every other sect. Below are some of the skills of Carefree Sect:

'Divine Art of the Northern Darkness' (北冥神功):

A skill that can absorb and harmonise opponents' inner energy, described as the greatest of the Carefree skills.

'Never Aging Eternal Youth Skill' (天長地久不老長春法)

This skill will allow the user to return to youth once every 30 years after fire deviation. It is theorised that the skill can stop aging completely after the body reaches adulthood if practiced without fire deviation.

'Minor Formless Skill' (小無相功)

This skill confers a great increase in inner energy and can be used to power almost any martial art.
