CH-53D/E Crash Attenuating Crew Chief Seat

The CH-53D/E Crash-Attenuating Crew Chief is designed to provide protection to crewmembers on the Sikorsky CH-53D/E and MH-53E military heavy-lift transport helicopters. The seat and frame are both attached with quick release pins for easy removal from the aircraft. Aircraft interface kits were specifically designed for the CH-53D, CH-53E, and MH-53E cabins.

Key features include:

  • Aft-facing seat on a floor-mounted frame
  • Patented energy attenuator that needs no adjustment to protect from the 5th percentile female to equipped 95th percentile male occupants
  • 4-point rotary buckle restraint with MA-16 inertia reel for occupant safety
  • Fully qualified to MIL-STD-810F environmental requirements
  • Dynamically and statically tested
