"The CH-A was designed by Cascade Technologies to be the civilian counterpart to their more popular CMS-5 model. Released in 2004, Cascade marketed the CH-A as a light frame sport and hunting rifle. The rifle was never popular in the European market, but it found success overseas in America. Operatives that prefer the CH-A generally choose it for it's light weight and high stopping power." ― Ingame Description

2 - 4 The CH-A is one of the many weapons used by operatives in Entry Point. It costs $10,500 to purchase and $250 to deploy on a mission.Though it has a very simple design, the CH-A isn't a weapon that should be underestimated. With a very long effective range and high power, it is easily able to pick off opponents from afar. In the hands of the SWAT or TRU, it can be a menace to an otherwise smooth operation, but operatives can use it to turn the tables against their foes as well.
It is very unlikely to have the opportunity to replenish this weapon's ammo during a mission, but occasionally an extra rifle will fall off a rooftop. The CH-A used by the SWAT is fitted with an LS6X scope and on all difficulties except Legend, will be equipped with a laser as well. However, this does not apply to The Financier where snipers have lasers on all difficulties.
Overview[]
With incredible range and impressive stopping power, the CH-A presents itself as the perfect answer to enemy snipers and grouped up enemies. With enough damage perks, it is capable of one-shot headshots at any range. This allows the sniper to quickly take out a foe before they can get a shot off. In addition, the CH-A also boasts an amazing amount of penetration, allowing it to punch through wood, drywall, and even concrete unimpeded. In addition to that, the Sniper Mastery perk boosts its penetration even further, and grants it the ability to shoot through bulletproof glass, riot shields and enemies. Due to it being a sniper, the CH-A also has above average armor penetration, allowing it to ignore a portion of enemies' armor.
For all its benefits, however, the CH-A does have some less desirable traits. The limited ammunition it carries cannot be replenished easily, as enemy snipers are generally in positions the operative cannot reach. In addition, the CH-A is an unwieldy weapon up close and will quickly falter against large close-range assaults. In stealth missions, it is often prone to overpenetration, hitting unintended targets behind the shooter's original point of aim. Due to a bug, the CH-A also deals double damage to the health of friendly operatives compared to other guns (specifically their health, not their armor, although there are other bugs and mechanics that affect the armor damage of all guns). When combined with the 4x headshot multiplier, a single misplaced shot could seriously damage, or even kill a fellow operative.
While it's not easy to remedy the CH-A's faults in combat, there are plenty of ways to cover for them, such as equipping an able secondary or having an ally who can back you up at close range. The sniper is also best saved for opportunities that will best make use of its power, such as engaging enemy snipers, shield units, or operatives taking cover behind walls.
Pros[]
- Extremely high damage.
- High range.
- Very high penetration.
- With Sniper Mastery it has even higher penetration and can pierce shields, bulletproof glass and enemies.
- Shots will partially ignore armor damage reduction.
Cons[]
- Slow firerate.
- Unreliable hipfire accuracy.
- Very high recoil, toning down accuracy.
- Full accuracy is not immediately gained upon aiming down sights.
- Low ammo capacity.
- Can only be refilled on certain missions and even then it is extremely difficult to do so.
- Cannot be concealed while suppressed or using high zoom optics.
Damage Breakpoints[]
Below are various tables showing how much extra damage is needed to kill various units in a certain number of shots on Legend difficulty without damage falloff. Values shown are for when unsuppressed/suppressed.

Modifications[]
Unless you intend to run the CH-A without any modifications, most setups will leave concealment out of the picture, meaning equipment bags will be needed to carry the weapon without drawing suspicion. Otherwise, using any of the scopes is a good way to take advantage of the CH-A's long range. Barrel and tactical attachments are a matter of personal preference.
Sight[]
- Iron Sights - Basic closed sights used by the CH-A, providing acceptable precision from a distance.
- Delta Sight (+1) - Miniature 1.5x sight with a thick delta dot, granting a clear view of the target.
- Red Dot (+2) - Large 2.2x magnification optic with with a solid red dot, providing a very clear sighting picture.
- TG3X (+2) - 3.3x magnification optic with a clear scope reticle, effective at farther distances.
- T4XS (+2) - 4.6x magnification optic with a tactical reticle, improving long range precision at the cost of close range aiming.
- LS6X (+2) - 6.6x magnification scope with a solid crosshair, ideal for extreme distances but almost unusable in close quarters.
Barrel[]
- Flash Hider (+2) - Eliminates the muzzle flash from the weapon. This lowers the threat of the weapon, but also causes spread to reset slower.
- Muzzle Brake (+1) - A compensator that reduces recoil, at the cost of spread increasing faster and increased maximum spread.
- Suppressor (+2) - A large suppressor that eliminates the sound and muzzle flash of the weapon. This lowers the threat of the weapon more than the Flash Hider and slightly improves damage and recoil, but increases maximum hipfire spread. Suppressed gunshots won't raise the alarm but can still cause people to look in your direction if they're too close.
Tactical[]
- Flashlight - A bright light that can be turned on to illuminate dark areas.
- Laser - A red laser that can be turned on to make sniping from the hip more precise by decreasing hipfire spread.
Trivia[]
- The CH-A resembles the M14 with a SIG SG 550-styled stock and a Remington Model 700 barrel and front sight.
- However, the M14 in real life is designated as a battle rifle and functions similarly to a designated marksman rifle rather than a fully fledged sniper rifle.
- The CH-A uses the same sound as the F57 and the Sawblade when unsuppressed.
- Despite being a civilian counterpart to a more popular rifle and being marketed as a "light frame sport and hunting rifle", it is still used by law enforcement snipers.
