When CH3CONH2 , acetamide reacts with KOH. Br2, we get methylamine,  CH3NH2

The reaction is

CH3CONH2   −→−Br2KOH   CH3NH2  + KBr

Here the reaction begins with the reaction with Br2, leading to formation of isocyanate which further hydrolysis to give the desired product.
