Challenge Star Dee Nguyen FIRED By MTV After She Brushes Off ...

THE CHALLENGE’S Dee Nguyen was fired by MTV after she brushed off the Black Lives Matter movement.

She made a series of insensitive comments, including one that claimed “people die every f***ing day.”

Dee, 27, was forced to apologize after she made insensitive comments about Black Lives Matter and some of her teammates from The Challenge called her out on it.

The native Vietnamese competitor had taken part in the social media movement to support Black Lives Matter before she continued to post provocative pictures of herself in bikinis and bathtubs.

One follower called her out in it and wrote: “READ THE F***ING ROOM.

“All you posted was a black square and went about your day and posting your lame a** thirst traps. Wake up!!! People are dying. Smh.”

The Challenge alum clapped back at her follower but came off as insensitive and racist.

She answered him: “People die every f***ing day. [You] don’t know me or what I do.

“I suggest [you] wake the f**k up and get off social media.”

A few days after that exchange, she took to Twitter to defend why she supported Black Lives Matter.

She wrote: “IDK why some of [you] think I’m anti BLM. I’ve been saying that since the day I lost my virginity.”

Following her comments, several of her fellow The Challenge competitors called her out on social media and condemned her for her attitude towards the Black Lives Matter movement.

Bayleigh Dayton wrote: “This is not how you support BLM. I’m disgusted and disappointed. This is not a trend. This is life or death for us.

“Posting for clout (power) about the death of black people? Shame on you, Dee Nguyen.”

Cheyenne Floyd, former Challenger and Teen Mom star, also tweeted: “Wish y’all had this energy when I did The Challenge.”

Tula “Big T” Fazakerley also addressed Dee’s comments on her Instagram after a fan asked her what she thought and she brought to light other issues she had with the Australian.

She wrote: “Yes, I have seen them. To be honest, I’m not surprised by her tweets given a slightly uncomfortable conversation that I had with her in Prague.

“She definitely needs to be educated and so I really hope she takes this opportunity to learn from her mistakes.

“I really hope that her main focus isn’t great ‘storylines’ and I hope she realizes the reality of the situation which is, how many people she’s hurt by her words. Me included.

“The tweet is not funny, it is disrespectful, utterly degrading and [wholly] insensitive.”

Other fans pushed for further explanation on Dee’s comments to Big T and she claimed that Dee thought she was “blacker” than her because she could name more Black artists.

She also claimed that Dee told her she hadn’t seen her “fight or be aggressive.”

She further explained that Dee made her feel “stereotyped.”

After receiving backlash from both her followers and her teammates in The Challenge, Dee took to Twitter to post an apology.

She wrote: “I am sorry for the insensitive tweet I posted earlier. I was being defensive and not speaking from my heart.

“But there’s no excuse. I also want to extend an apology to Bayleigh and Swaggy – who are my cast mates and deserve my respect and compassion.” She finished off her apology: “BLM to me every day. I’m trying to do the best I can with what is currently accessible to me.”

However, her apology was not enough to save her contract as MTV announced on Monday that they had cut ties with Dee.

The Challenge announced on Twitter: “As a result of Dee Nguyen’s offensive comments on the Black Lives Matter movement, we have severed ties with her.

“Out of respect for our Challengers, we’ll air our season as planned. We strongly condemn systematic racism and stand with those raising their voices against injustice.”

Dee was also forced to post a formal apology and comment after MTV’s decision to cut ties with her.

On Tuesday morning, she posted on her social media: “The last 24 hours have made me realize what is important and that is forgiveness.

“I would like to offer my sincerest apology to my colleagues to whom I have hurt directly and indirectly due to my insensitive remarks.

“Let me be clear, I am a POC that cares about BLM. I believe in this movement and I’m stepping away from social media to focus on my wellbeing and mental health.

“This is not a goodbye, it’s a I will see you again. To my fans, thank you for believing in me and for your support. It helps.

“I see every single one of you and I remember your stories. Stay strong and safe.”

Dee first started with MTV as a cast member for Geordie Shore, the British version of Jersey Shore.

The Vietnamese hailing all the way from Australia has competed in three seasons of The Challenge, but has only won one so far.

The Challenge: Total Madness airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST on MTV.
