An accurate control of the ammonia concentration is an essential quality parameter during the Haber-Bosch process. Anton Paar offers precise inline concentration measurement systems by using the sound velocity sensor L-Sonic 5100 or the density sensor L-Dens 7400

The Haber-Bosch process was invented at the beginning of the 20th century and is the most important industrial process for the synthesis of ammonia (NH3).

Anton Paar offers precise concentration measurement systems in order to control the liquid ammonia concentration during the Haber-Bosch process.

Today, more than 90 % of the world-wide produced ammonia is gained via this process, where nitrogen (N2) and hydrogen (H2) react in a three-production stage process to ammonia. Ammonia is a key ingredient for the production of fertilizers, urea, nitric acid and other subsequent chemicals.

Therefore, a constant and reliable concentration measurement is an important quality parameter. Anton Paar’s precise sound velocity sensor (L-Sonic 5100) or density sensor (L-Dens 7400) combined with the powerful evaluation unit Pico 3000 provide a reliable inline concentration measurement system for the produced ammonia and can enhance the Haber-Bosch process in an easy and cost-effective way.
