Chengdu's Xiao Jun Gan Chuan Chuan Xiang in Singapore

Chuan Chuan Xiang This is one of the other chains from China that I mentioned the other day. They've closed their Chinatown location though, so I headed up towards Bugis instead (101 Beach Road #01-01, 6566-2188). To my surprise, it wasn't just about chuan chuan xiang. They also had a platter on the side for you to grill things directly on (mmm...mushrooms!). The quality was decent considering that it was a buffet (and it was better than Hei Chuan Chuan). But I still don't understand the appeal of chuan chuan xiang. I'd rather just go to a normal un-skwered hot pot instead. Digested at 2:11 PM
