Experienced Work Assessment Requirements

Achievement of the Experienced Worker Assessment will allow candidates to apply for an Electricians ECS Gold card. To achieve the EWA candidates must complete both the Experienced Worker Qualification and the AM2e Assessment:

Experienced Worker Qualification – City & Guilds 2346-03 Level 3 Level 3 performance units – There are 6 units that cover the role of an electrician ranging from working safely, completing installation work all the way through to completing an Electrical Installation Certificate. Candidates must provide auditable evidence of competent performance on site. A  variety of assessment methods are used and are summarised on the Assessments tab.

IMPORTANT: To achieve the 2346-03 qualification candidates must also hold the following qualifications: 

Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2018 (2382-18) Level 3 Award in Initial Verification of Electrical Installations (2391-50 or 2391-52)

AM2E Assessment

Once the Experienced Worker Qualification has been completed you will then need to complete the AM2E Assessment. This variant of the AM2 assessment is specific to the Experienced Worker Assessment. The assessment is split into the following sections:

Section A1	Safe Isolation and Risk Assessment	45 mins
Section A2 - A6	Composite Installation	10 hours
Section B	Inspection, Testing and Certification	3.5 hours
Section C	Safe Isolation	30 mins
Section D	Fault Diagnosis and rectification	2 hours
Section E	Assessment of Applied Knowledge	1 hour

How much will it cost?

The total cost of the Experienced Worker Assessment will depend on your existing experience and qualifications. You will need some or all of the following:

Experienced Worker QualificationLevel 3 Performance Units	£1799 + VAT**	Includes up to 16 hours of assessor time which is sufficient for most candidates. Any additional time will be charged at £40 + VAT/hr
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (if not already achieved)	£199 + VAT** (1 day) or £419 + VAT** (3 day)	Exemptions include City & Guilds 2382 18th edition and other awarding organisation equivalents
Inspection and Testing (if not already achieved)	From £614 + VAT**	Exemptions include City & Guilds 2391 L3 Initial Verification or other awarding organisation equivalents
AM2e (if not already achieved)	£1200 +VAT**	An optional 2 day AM2e training course can be completed for £262 + VAT

For this course, you will require a good understanding of both Maths and English, as competence in these areas is essential for success.

How to Sign-up

Before starting the course candidates will need to complete the attached Skills Scan to confirm that the course is suitable for them. Candidates then wishing to proceed with the EWA should complete the attached Candidate Background Form and submit both documents to Rebus Training.
