Citygate Automotive has opened the doors to a new Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles van centre in St Albans.

The AM100 retail group has expanded its presence in the region and taken the VW brand’s network of van centres to 63 and its authorised repairer network to 33 across the UK.

Citygate’s new facility, on the Hertfordshire city’s North Orbital Commercial Park, offers new and approved used vans and features a seven-ramp workshop, an MOT facility, and a newly-assembled 25-strong team.

Citygate chief executive, Jonathan Smith, said: “We’re delighted to expand our network of van centres with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles with a new facility in St Albans.

“This new site will support local customers with a range of new vehicles and used Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles products, as well as the full servicing options including MOT and a fully operating Mobile Service Clinic.”

Inside Citygate Automotive's new Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles van centre in St Albans Citygate already operates Volkswagen van centres in Colindale, North London and Woodburn Green, Buckinghamshire.

In January last year Citygate confirmed its acquisition of Inchcape Retail’s Volkswagen dealerships in West London and Twickenham.

It also operates VW car retail sites at Chalfont, High Wycombe, Ruislip and Watford.

Sarah Beattie, network development manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “Citygate has been a long-standing partner of the brand and we are delighted to expand our network of Van Centres with this new site in St Albans.

“We work tirelessly to ensure we can provide the best service possible to our customers with flexible servicing options and extended opening hours in all our van centres and this site will now expand our reach even further.”

Citygate confirms Inchcape West London and Twickenham VW acquisitions
