AVOID AVOID AVOIDI purchased a brand new van from this dealer 11/2024. Recently started experiencing some issues with the van displaying error messages and breaking down due to low 12V battery. This van was repaired by VW CITYGATE Collingdale service centre on 27/02/2025 replacing the gateway module and alternator, but unfortunately when collecting the van the same message ERROR was still displaying on the dash when confronting service manager JUDD BRINDLEY regarding this his comments/ behaviour were unprofessional, unacceptable and unreasonable, this was contradicted by the VW breakdown engineer that come out when the van failed to start on the 17/03/2025, he was shocked that a main dealer returned the van with the ERROR still displaying. I have emails to support all the repairs and communications. I am totally disappointed with this dealership who have failed to investigate diagnose and repair correctly there is still an underline issue which they have failed to diagnose. I have been using VW vans / this dealership for the last 10/15 years but due to the incompetence and substandard workmanship i have lost confidence in the high standards of service/ repairs that VW offer their clients. The whole experience has been disappointing stressful time wasting and impacting my business. What is the point of spending 37K if you can’t get the after sales service and can not fulfill their 3 year manufactures warranty. They are good at selling vans but unfortunately their after sales service is woeful!! AFTER CONSTANTLY BREAKING DOWN IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS IN JAN 2026 JCB VW DEALERSHIP IN CRAWLEY RH11 8DH CARRIED OUT DIAGNOSTICS AND REPLACED THE BATTERY I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VW DEALERSHIP FOR COMMERCIAL CLIENTAL EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GREAT TECHNICIANS WITHOUT WAITING WEEKS FOR APPOINTMENTS.

From the sales side the experience was fine however the service dept are a different ball game. I bough a 1yr old Amarok that their service manager had been using. When I picked it up it only had one key and I was advised they would post the other as it was still at the service managers house. It took six months and a complaint to VW to get the key replaced. Now I have just had a service and asked for the carpet in the drivers footwell to be stuck down as it is loose. Was advised I bought a used vehicle and this isn’t covered on my 5 year warranty.

There is no option for 0 stars! They took the car in for AC service, told us it was fixed and we paid £225 for the diagnostic and they put some gas back in. Turns out did nothing, gas had escaped by the end of the day on the drive home. Called back and said there is still a problem and they wanted us to pay £225 again for the diagnostic when they did not do it properly the first time. We agreed they would find the fault and tell us how much it would cost for repair, but wanted to charge again just to look at the car.

OMG what a pile, we booked a van in and needed a vehicle while our one was serviced. They said they did not have one for 3/4 weeks, so we sad no problem we will wait. Roll on today three weeks later get a call at 3.45 pm saying they no longer have a courtesy vehicle for tomorrow!! when I complained and said we are being pissed about the lady who was rude and abrupt hung up. Way to go City Gate

I tried to call City Gate Colindale today, February 15, 2024, to ask for fixing my van's temperature sensor, as the engine light came on. The lady in the service team at Colindale said they could not help me as their manager, Amir, instructed them not to fix my van anymore, as they were scamming me three months ago by trying to charge me for a new sensor, but instead, they repaired it without replacing it. When Roadside Assistance from VW arrived, we found out the sensor was faulty as it had not been changed and had been repaired in the past. Finally, after arguing with Jam on the phone, I took my van to City Gate Colindale. After meeting the new manager, Mr. Judge Brindley, he asked Pedro from the service team to take the van and check it. In the end, it was discovered that the sensor, for which I had been charged before, was indeed faulty, and they replaced it. The new manager, Mr. Judge, and Pedro tried their best to fix all the problems as soon as possible for me, but I cannot trust the guys working at the back in the garage as they might not do the job properly or incorrectly. Additionally, the mechanics are not willing to rectify the problem with the van.I have footage from my van dash cam and a photo of the wire that shows how the mechanic are scamming me and put me and my family on danger. The only reason I even gave stars to this disgusting company is because the manager Judge and Pedro for trying sort things out for me. Otherwise this would be the minimum of stars ever! Always ask to provide proof that the mechanics have replaced or repaired the parts. Do not trust the mechanics 100%.

Superb Service for JUDD, TOSASA and JAMES
Took car into Citygate VW Colindale Branch for routine check-up. Very impressed and kept informed of my cars progress. Even returned it immaculately clean inside and out. Highly satisfied and would recommend to anyone about VW vehicles. Great customer service for JUDD and TOSANA and great technical support for JAMES. Give them a pay rise!!!

Worth the wait!
Ordered my new fully loaded Caddy van at the beginning of 2023, but due to the worldwide chip shortage, it took a while to arrive! However, it was well worth the wait. The upgrades and extras now included, make this an even sweeter ride! The team at Citygate Colindale have made the process of organising the buying and selling of both vans and art form. I was regularly kept up to speed on the progress of the new van and although an inconvenience having to wait, they made it as easy as possible!

We purchased a van on Sat,18th November. Before we came to the shop to pick up the van, the car dealer offered us complimentary insurance (over the phone) . This insurance should have covered the vehicle for five days (Saturday-Wednesday). At the time of the transaction (on Saturday), we asked for proof of the insurance. However, Steve told us that he could not print any documents or take a screenshot, as he had already closed the website. He told us that we should not worry about this too much as we would receive an email regarding the cover within a few hours.On Monday morning, we contacted him again asking for an email as we had never received it. This is when we learned that the van was not insured. The first impression we had about CityGate Colindale was completely ruined.We wasted the whole Monday trying to urgently purchase insurance that would provide us with the necessary cover. This caused us extreme stress and had put us under massive pressure to purchase insurance on the same date, which significantly increased the price we originally been quoted as if the insurance was to start on Thursday, after 5days taking a complimentary one. We ended up out of pocket by buying insurance on the same day, on Monday. We had filed an official complaint to a senior manager. His response shocked us. While he admitted that there was some technical glitch that they could not explain, he went on blaming us for not sorting out the insurance ourselves. He continued to give poor excuses about eligibility or non eligibility, and so on. This is beyond unacceptable.The dealer should not offer complimentary insurance if there are any issues with their system or if they believe that a driver is not eligible, thus putting the client at risk. If they do offer insurance and the client accepted the offer, the dealer is liable, something that the CityGate Colindale refused to accept.Instead of investigating the issue and reporting this serious breach to the regulator (FCA) and compensating the client, they chose to put all the blame on us. We hope our experience will help others who were planning to buy a vehicle from this seriously unprofessional dealership.UPDATE 25.02.2024Its been over two months now. I provided the CityGate customer service with all paperwork, emails as requested by Lauryn below. I have also followed up on my emails multiple times. I have never ever heard from them again (apart from this 'show-off' message on Trust Pilot). I wonder if the CEO of City Gate is aware of the breach that happened at Colindale branch.Very unprofessional.

Very poor effort from booking in to eventually getting problem sorted.Vehicle was booked in for diagnosis 4 times before it was done.Diagnosis didnt flag real problem so had to be re done twice at my inconvenience.This service centre never keeps you in the loop as to whats going on and you are at least a half an hour on the phone to get answered.Took my vehicle a week early before putting it on ramp at a great inconvenience to me.Problem with my van was a simple one but they changed a load of bits that didnt need changing only to find out it was something simple.I wouldnt take a vehicle here if its warranty is out.
