San Marino 5 and 10 Centesimi 1864 to 1938
San Marino is the world's oldest and smallest republic. It is located in north central Italy with an area of only 24 square miles. San Marino issued several beautiful coins during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Monica's coin is a 10 centisimi piece. Other San Marino coins from this era are 5 centisimi, 50 centesimi, lira, 2 lire, and 5 lire. This page covers the copper issues: 5 and 10 centesimi. The other coins are silver. The coin in our picture is a nice specimen from the collection of jaceravone over at CoinTalk.
