An example of a Control Panel with HMI/PLC controller (B&R 10.1″ 4PPC70.101G-23W). This particular Control Panel provides multiple PID control of pressures within a sectioned tank containing a mixture of sand and water. Pressure (PV) is measured using Endress & Hauser Hydrostatic probes (4-20mA). The control of the pressure (MV) is provided by a Rotork valve actuators (4-20mA).

Manual control of the valve actuators is provided by Auto/Man selection screen buttons.

The combined HMI/PLC controller is programmed using B&R Automation’s IDE “Automation Studio”. Programs can be written in various languages i.e. (Basic, ANSI C++, ANSI C, CFC continuous function chart, LD Ladder, ST structured text, FBD function block diagram, IL instruction list, SFC sequential function chart, ST structured text).

Screen graphics are created using the Automation Studio graphics libraries/objects or can be imported as jpg, bmp, png, gif, ico created by e.g. Adobe Photoshop. Customer CAD drawings can be used as a basis for the graphics creation.
