Cooler For Ryzen 5 3600 - Cooling - Linus Tech Tips

I was thinking about getting a thermalright assassin king 120 mini for my r5 3600. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this cooler, or any other info about it.

Just get the peerless assasin, its only like 10$ more at ~40$ iirc and it will have far better cooling capacity considering that its a dual tower and has 6 heatpipes, should make your system be abit quieter if thats why you are upgrading cooler, there is oc headroom but dont bother with cpu oc since it has been dead since 9th gen and just let pbo auto oc for you

My case only has 136mm of cpu clearance.

It's a great cooler, Silver Arrow 135 performs better (6x6mm heatpipes dual tower), but only just now are white and black versions coming. And Assassin KIng 120 mini (5x6mm heatpipes) in addition to white and black, has those awesome looking ARGB versions, and it's more than enough, cooling performance wise.

Just FYI, you don't need a massive cooler for a 3600. I only use a Noctua NH-D9L with a single fan and keep mine well below 70 on a 4.2Ghz "OC". However to achieve that, you should really look into undervolting. Makes such a huge difference and without it my little cooler would be overwhelmed.

PBO on the 3600 really isn't great, at least it wasn't for me. Mine boosted to 4.2 and then downclocked to under 4.0 with the automatic OC. Now I get constant 4.2 and much lower noise and temps.
