Introduced for the 2024 model year, the Corvette C8 E-Ray boasted two notable firsts for a production-spec Corvette, including a hybrid powertrain and advanced eAWD setup. In regard to the former, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline found in the Corvette C8 Stingray was paired with a 1.9-kWh battery and front-mounted electric motor that brought total output up to 655 horsepower.

The hybrid powertrain also enabled the Corvette C8 E-Ray to be fitted with a eAWD system, where the electric motor drove the front axle and the gasoline engine powered the rear axle. This allowed the C8 E-Ray to sprint to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and cross the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, which made it the quickest production Corvette ever.

It’s worth noting that the electrified C8 E-Ray also featured a Stealth Mode, where the Corvette could be temporarily driven on only electric power at speeds of up to 45 mph.

2024 Corvette E-Ray

With a trim lineup consisting of 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ, every C8 E-Ray was equipped as standard with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, and six driver-selectable drive modes (Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, My Mode and Z-Mode). In addition, a new Charge+ mode allowed the driver to prioritize the battery pack’s state of charge for maximal performance.

An optional ZER Performance packaged added Michelin Pilot Sport 4 ZP summer tires, unique chassis tuning and other performance-minded enhancements.

Although the Corvette Grand Sport was never introduced for the Corvette C8 generation, the C8 E-Ray followed a similar ethos by combining aspects from both the C8 Stingray and C8 Z06. More specifically, the C8 E-Ray shared the 6.2L LT2 engine with the C8 Stingray, yet also featured the C8 Z06’s aggressive wide-body proportions. However, it did include unique touches, such as color-matched exterior trim pieces.

For the inaugural 2024 model year, pricing started at $104,2954 for “base” coupes and $111,2954 for “base” convertible models.
