Cos Banker is a one step culture cell storage solution. Suspend culture cells in Cos Banker and store at -80 degrees for long term storage (it is not necessary to store in liquid nitrogen). This is a serum-free solution with no animal products added.

Components

• Cos Banker (120 ml)
• Contains DMSO 10%
• No serum

Store at 2-10 degrees of dark place Expiration date: 2 years from date of manufacture

Applications tested

• OKT4 (mouse hybridoma cells)
• PC12 (human neuronal cells)
• K562 (human leukemia cells)
• Other human and mouse lymphocytes

Instructions

1. Collect culture cells (during logarithmic growth stage) and place 5x105 - 1x107 cells in a cryovial. Centrifuge for 5 minutes at 1,200 rpm.
2. Add 1 ml of Cos Banker to cell pellet and vigorously mix, then freeze and store at -80°C.
3. If liquid Nitrogen storage is desired, freeze cells at -80°C first and then transfer to liquid Nitrogen.
4. To thaw, defrost in 37°C water bath quickly. Note: It is ideal to use a logarithmic growth stage culture in order to increase the survival rate when thawed.
