COVID-19 update

As we begin to see a reduction in COVID positive patients in the hospital, the reduced pressure has enabled us to get our routine outpatient appointments and planned procedures back up and running. These services had been paused over recent months to allow us to redeploy staff to where they were most needed during the peak of the pandemic.

We will be in touch with patients as these services resume. If you have been invited in to hospital for a procedure or a face to face outpatient appointment, it is important that you do come in – we have the time to see you and measures in place to ensure that it is safe to do so.

COVID-19 vaccinations

Across South West London we are making excellent progress as we continue to deliver the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history. Over 46,000 Kingston borough residents have received at least their first dose and over 51,000 of Richmond borough residents, which is an exceptional achievement. Vaccination data for the boroughs in South West London has now been published nationally and you can see this breakdown here on the NHS England website.

At Kingston Hospital, our vaccination teams including staff from our two local community trusts, HRCH and Your Healthcare have delivered first dose and second dose vaccinations to staff, including many of our ISS and other contracted staff, as well as local care home workers, staff from HRCH and Your Healthcare and the London Ambulance Service, vulnerable patients and those over 80.

Please wait for the NHS to contact you to let you know when it’s your turn to be vaccinated. For most people this will be a letter, either from your GP or the national NHS. Further information on the vaccine is available on the NHS.UK website.
