Electro-Harmonix C9 Organ Machine Pedal

Q: Does anyone know what the difference is between this C9 organ pedal and EHX's B9 organ pedal? They look identical to me, and even cost the same!

The C9 is the sequel to the B9 organ pedal. They have different settings and emulate different kinds of organ sounds. I like the C9 because it has settings specifically designed to play The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and The Beatles. I don't recall what the B9 has, but the best way to know which pedal is best for you is to hear them be played. There are good demonstrations for both units. I ordered a C9 but returned it. It seemed to be sample driven using the guitar output as a voltage controller. A little finicky to be used live in my opinion. The demos are impressive on YouTube though so my first impression could be wrong. Time will tell as more people try them out. Michael D. The C9 also has classic organ sounds both has a few Tweeks in there. Both are good pedals. I had purchased a B9 but preferred the C9 sounds. Therefore I exchanged it. Can't go wrong with either one. It tracks very well, as well as my pitch factor. I think the presets are much more useable than the B9, it has it's place but the C9 covers more bases for me. Just worked out a few oldies that it just nails, lighter shade of pale, spooky and one of my humble pie favorites live with me. Been playing since the 60s with a ton of old and new gear, this is one of most interesting pedals I've experienced in a very long time. Start with the C9, you won't regret.
