Got this at Christmas and it is still working great three months later. At first, we had to use the mode 3 (gum massage) until we got used to it for a few days...then we worked our way up to mode 1 (vigorous brushing). It feels like it tears up the germ colonies "cavity creeps" that try to "make holes in teeth". Leaves the teeth and gums feeling fresh and clean every time. I was very glad for the ten brush heads that were included because now me and my four kids can all use it with one extra brush to spare for six months from now. I have noticed that we all brush our teeth more regularly because this system makes brushing almost effortless. I like the fact that the device pauses every 30 seconds and turns itself off after two minutes because it helps you to be more mindful of time and not go too short or too long. I read some people say they had battery problems with this so I simply leave my base station unplugged for weeks at a time in between it needing a charge. Then, I plug it in overnight before unplugging it again for a couple more weeks. I figure that this way, the battery is getting exercised properly and hopefully I can make it last a couple years. Plus, when you go to buy more, they are super cheap to replace. I hated how I had to break down my SC and scrub it because of the gunk that collected in every nook and cranny if you didn't. And, I hated when I was midway through brushing and the batteries would go dead! And, after two weeks of use, the contacts touching the batteries were flattened so that I couldn't brush my teeth without stopping to twist and jiggle it around so it would work again! A N D, I hated paying $27 for a pack of 3 replacement heads!Each and every one of those problems is solved with this wonderful toothbrush. I'm not kidding. The case is sleek and smooth with virtually no places where gunk can collect. A quick once over with a soapy washcloth and it's clean. Next, no batteries to worry over. It is on a recharging stand so it's ready for action when you are. The heads are very easy to put on and take off. Ey are also very inexpensive to replace. Last time I checked, they were a couple bucks each. Best of all, the brushing action is fantastic. My brush has 3 settings-high, low and a kind of pulse mode.I would highly recommend this brush to literally everyone. When my old Sonicare wore out I decided to look for something that would work as well but had less expensive brush heads. I bought one of these toothbrushes in June 2014 based on its great reviews. I liked it so well that I bought a second one for my husband in July, 2014. They "seemed" to operate and clean our teeth well. BUT when we visited the dentist in December, 2014 my husband had cavities from improper brushing and I was starting to develop an area where my gums were separating from a tooth. Neither of us had had these kind of problems when using the Sonicare. Then we noticed that the brushes had to be on the charger after every brushing or they would not hold enough charge to complete a brushing. Soon after they both stopped working altogether. So they worked about 6 months. The vendor I purchased both brushes from was 47th Street Photo. Their toll free number is 800-998-2066. I called Amazon as is my practice when I have a defective item since I have Amazon Prime and buy most items through Prime. It turned out that neither of these brushes was a Prime purchase and that one was fulfilled by Amazon while the other was not. Amazon refunded my purchase price on the brush that was fulfilled by them less a $7.98 restocking fee charged by 47th Street Photo. Amazon contacted 47th Street Photo about the second defective brush since is was purchased off of Amazon but came directly from this vendor. 47th Street said I could return the brush at my expense but that I could not get a refund. I would have preferred a refund since both brushes died after only a short time but since the brush was over $40 I decided to send it back. As of today I have not received a replacement brush nor have I heard from 47th Street. We went ahead and bought new Sonicare brushes. Now I am left with over 15 useless brush heads. So much for trying to save money on brush heads. At first I did not like the sound emitted by this toothbrush and I did not like the feel of it. With continued use I got use to it and thought that it was doing a good job as my teeth looked clean and even a bit whiter after using it. I liked the 30 second intervals and time system and the fact that it quit after two minutes which is as long as I would use it anyway. I had been using this tooth brush at least 3 months or more and I started having a toothache. This is significant as I have not had a cavity or a toothache for years (not since I started using the Rotodent back around 2004 of 2005). I started using the Rotodent because of cavity issues. I went to the dentist and indeed I had a cavity. Even though I thought this brush was working, it just was not getting in-between my teeth and under the gum line like the Rotodent. My dentist reluctantly agreed because he was hesitant to have me purchase a Rotodent because the product has changed since another company (not the original owners of the company) took over. The Rotodent is not quite as smooth operating, you get less brush heads (2 instead of 4), and you no longer get a stand to hold your Rotodent for charging. Also, the company will not stand by its warranty unless you buy the Rotodent from your dentist or from the online company listed on the Rotodent website (my dentist no longer sells them because of the warranty issue and the changes in the product). I decided to take a chance and bought the Rotodent classic (the latest version of the product has terrible reviews) from dentist.com and I am OK with the product even though the company has changed. I have been using the Rotodent now for about 3 weeks and I can already tell the difference in how my teeth feel. I tried this Health HP product but the toothbrush head just is not fixed so that it goes in-between teeth and under the gum line like the Rotodent. For me, that is what I need to prevent cavities. It is too bad since I sort of liked this product but the proof of product effectiveness is the absence of cavities and I do not have that with this product. The Sonicare's performed very well for me while they lasted; they tended to stop working abruptly after around 2 years' use. The Sonicare company reliably stood behind their product if it died before the 2 year warranty date. The sole reason I changed to the Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush was the cost of those Sonicare brush heads! Even from Costco, they come in at $8 apiece...and should be changed every 3 months. In short, I am not satisfied with the Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush and have gone back to Sonicare, despite the expense of the brushheads. I keep the Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush for a travel toothbrush. If I had paid attention to some of the other reviews, I would not have bought this Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush and saved myself an unsatisfactory detour.PROS: Good price includes extra brush heads.CONS: Mainly that the brush head is too soft, does not make my teeth feel clean like a Sonicare does. Secondary cons: On-off button poorly located so that I tend to press it accidentally while gripping the handle in normal usage. An accidental button press cycles it from "Normal" to "Low", so I must then press it thrice more to "Massage", "Off", then "Normal". After one year, battery only lasts about 3 days (3x/day brushing@2 minutes) before requiring a recharge. The 3 modes offer the the most thorough clean. I've walked out of the dentist with my mouth and teeth not feeling as clean as when I use this toothbrush. I've already received compliments on my teeth being whiter and I've only had this toothbrush for a couple days to a week. Another feature is the charging dock. You just set the toothbrush on the dock and it immediately starts charging. Not that you need to charge it very often. I've only charged it once, and it still functions at its full potential. This product actually makes me look forward to brushing my teeth. Overall probably one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. 5/5 stars for extremely fast shipping and phenomenal product quality. When my old Sonicare wore out I decided to look for something that would work as well but had less expensive brush heads. I bought one of these toothbrushes in June 2014 based on its great reviews. I liked it so well that I bought a second one for my husband in July, 2014. They "seemed" to operate and clean our teeth well. BUT when we visited the dentist in December, 2014 my husband had cavities from improper brushing and I was starting to develop an area where my gums were separating from a tooth. Neither of us had had these kind of problems when using the Sonicare. Then we noticed that the brushes had to be on the charger after every brushing or they would not hold enough charge to complete a brushing. Soon after they both stopped working altogether. So they worked about 6 months. The vendor I purchased both brushes from was 47th Street Photo. Their toll free number is 800-998-2066. I called Amazon as is my practice when I have a defective item since I have Amazon Prime and buy most items through Prime. It turned out that neither of these brushes was a Prime purchase and that one was fulfilled by Amazon while the other was not. Amazon refunded my purchase price on the brush that was fulfilled by them less a $7.98 restocking fee charged by 47th Street Photo. Amazon contacted 47th Street Photo about the second defective brush since is was purchased off of Amazon but came directly from this vendor. 47th Street said I could return the brush at my expense but that I could not get a refund. I would have preferred a refund since both brushes died after only a short time but since the brush was over $40 I decided to send it back. As of today I have not received a replacement brush nor have I heard from 47th Street. We went ahead and bought new Sonicare brushes. Now I am left with over 15 useless brush heads. Avid Mystery Reader2.0 out of 5 stars Does not work well enough to prevent cavities (at least for me) Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2015Verified Purchase My old toothbrush bit the dust and I saw the reviews for this one on Amazon and thought I would give it a try before I bought another Rotodent. At first I did not like the sound emitted by this toothbrush and I did not like the feel of it. With continued use I got use to it and thought that it was doing a good job as my teeth looked clean and even a bit whiter after using it. I liked the 30 second intervals and time system and the fact that it quit after two minutes which is as long as I would use it anyway. I had been using this tooth brush at least 3 months or more and I started having a toothache. This is significant as I have not had a cavity or a toothache for years (not since I started using the Rotodent back around 2004 of 2005). I started using the Rotodent because of cavity issues. I went to the dentist and indeed I had a cavity. Even though I thought this brush was working, it just was not getting in-between my teeth and under the gum line like the Rotodent. My dentist reluctantly agreed because he was hesitant to have me purchase a Rotodent because the product has changed since another company (not the original owners of the company) took over. The Rotodent is not quite as smooth operating, you get less brush heads (2 instead of 4), and you no longer get a stand to hold your Rotodent for charging. Also, the company will not stand by its warranty unless you buy the Rotodent from your dentist or from the online company listed on the Rotodent website (my dentist no longer sells them because of the warranty issue and the changes in the product). I decided to take a chance and bought the Rotodent classic (the latest version of the product has terrible reviews) from dentist.com and I am OK with the product even though the company has changed. I have been using the Rotodent now for about 3 weeks and I can already tell the difference in how my teeth feel. I tried this Health HP product but the toothbrush head just is not fixed so that it goes in-between teeth and under the gum line like the Rotodent. For me, that is what I need to prevent cavities. It is too bad since I sort of liked this product but the proof of product effectiveness is the absence of cavities and I do not have that with this product. Helpful Report - Showing 0 comments

The Sonicare's performed very well for me while they lasted; they tended to stop working abruptly after around 2 years' use. The Sonicare company reliably stood behind their product if it died before the 2 year warranty date. The sole reason I changed to the Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush was the cost of those Sonicare brush heads! Even from Costco, they come in at $8 apiece...and should be changed every 3 months. In short, I am not satisfied with the Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush and have gone back to Sonicare, despite the expense of the brushheads. I keep the Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush for a travel toothbrush. If I had paid attention to some of the other reviews, I would not have bought this Health HP-STX Sonic Toothbrush and saved myself an unsatisfactory detour.PROS: Good price includes extra brush heads.CONS: Mainly that the brush head is too soft, does not make my teeth feel clean like a Sonicare does. Secondary cons: On-off button poorly located so that I tend to press it accidentally while gripping the handle in normal usage. An accidental button press cycles it from "Normal" to "Low", so I must then press it thrice more to "Massage", "Off", then "Normal". After one year, battery only lasts about 3 days (3x/day brushing@2 minutes) before requiring a recharge.
