On Sunday, July 24, 2022, Nguyen Thi Dan, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at age 97.

Dan was born on December 31, 1926 in the Nam Dinh province of Vietnam. She immigrated to the United States in 1993 where she resided in Woodland, California until 2020 when she moved to Georgetown, Texas.

As a widowed single mother of 50+ years, Dan supported her family by selling livestock and goods at the local market in Vietnam. The strength, resilience, and courage she demonstrated continue to inspire her family today.

Dan had a passion for cooking traditional Vietnamese dishes from scratch. She was an avid fan of drama series and stayed caught up on the latest releases from Taiwan, China, and Vietnam--even in her later days. She loved walking around the neighborhood each day for exercise and taking her grandchildren to nearby parks. When she was feeling lucky which was quite often, she'd take a trip to local casino and play penny slots.

Dan is survived and dearly missed by her 7 children, 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 29th, 2022 at Ramsey Funeral Home at 2 o’clock p.m.
