Next Privileges Previous User Management and Authentication Default Username and Password¶

The factory default credentials for a pfSense® software installation are:

Username:

admin

Password:

pfsense

Warning

Change the password to a secure value as soon as possible. Do not leave the password at the default value, even in a lab or test environment.

Note

On pfSense Plus software version 24.03 and later, administrators are required to change this password to a custom non-default value the first time they log in.
