To deal with the 50,000+ "user" attack on the site I enabled DDoS intervention, which is that "verifying you're human" page you saw for a few seconds while connecting. If you cannot access THR for some reason, please let a staff member know and we'll see what we can do. Overall this should be a pretty foolproof and resilient solution as I see this on many sites regularly, so it's very well tested.
