v50sport V My 2006 V50 keeps loosing power, I read the codes and found 0299 Turbocharger (TC) control pressure low. After checking a few things I found the DPF is blocked, I took it off and pressure washed it and after refitting the car is back to normal, but for how long???? I want to remove the DPF but dont know what other problems this will cause. Has anyone else done this already?? #1 · Aug 25, 2012 My 2006 V50 keeps loosing power, I read the codes and found 0299 Turbocharger (TC) control pressure low. I know that it is necessary to change it quite 120000km and that that will be my next revision:facepalm: I advise to drive in 3rd gear has 120 during 15 minutes it burn the particles who block him get me informed #3 · Aug 25, 2012 My car has about 100,000 miles / 160,000km and I don't know if it has ever been replaced before. I've read a few things about removing the DPF all together and remapping the ECU to remove the DPF software. Just not sure if I want to do this or just replace the DPF with a new one. #4 · Aug 25, 2012 I would certainly try the method described by "my hupe v50". Mine was changed at 120k km, but there are reports of people driving 300k km+ without ever changing it. Do you drive a lot of short distances? The DPF burns particles while driving for longer distances every so many kilometres (and will not work properly driving only short distances). 0 Reply #5 · Aug 27, 2012 What in the heck is a DPF? #6 · Aug 27, 2012 Diesel particulate filter A fance filter which has been added to modern diesels in order to get them half clean ;) 0 Reply #7 · Aug 27, 2012 I took mine DPF of my duramax and with the bullydog you can remove the cleaning program. It just dumps diesel into the filter and burns it all off at high temp. I think it take like 20 min of driving above 35 mph at operating temp for it to engage. its useless and kills mpg. I got easy extra 3 mpg and moar power! you will get some black smoke though but not much. There are plenty of DPF deletion kits out there for the trucks, idk about for volvo though. #8 · Aug 27, 2012 for cleaning you should use some sort of non polar organic solvent, like seafoam, water is polar and will clean the DPF poorly. #9 · Aug 30, 2012 I think I might look into removing the DPF and the software with an ECU rewrite. What is the bullydog??? Thanks #10 · Sep 1, 2012 bullydog and hypertech do handheld programmers for diesel trucks but it doesnt seem they do volvo's. there has got to be something out there for em though. good luck PS are you in london? http://www.more-bhp.com/dpf-removal/volvo-v50-16d-dpf-removal.html If not, im sure there are other solutions on the market.
