Requirements

Vietnamese citizen, aged: Made 18-65 years, Female: 18-60 years
In good health
B2 driving license
No heroin or drug addiction
Vehicle age of not more than 11 years for GrabCar and 12 years for GrabTaxi (from the year of manufacture)

Documents

ID Card/Passport of Dax (valid within 1 month prior to the expiry date)
Valid Driving license (B2 & above)
Background check from DOJ: original document (valid within 10 (ten) months) or appointment letter for back ground check (still valid) or Post Office receipt
Health Certificate with heroin test results confirmed negative
Car registration certificate (original or mortgage receipt)
Vehicle Inspection Certificate
Car compulsory insurance document
Tax Number is required to fulfill tax obligations with the authorities. Individual without a tax number? Apply here
Member Confirmation Letter issued by the Cooperative
“Contract Car” signage
Reflective stamps

Common Questions 01 Can I register 2 drivers sharing the same car?

Yes, currently you can register up to 2 drivers sharing the same car, however they should have seperate driver accounts.

02 Can I register GrabCar and GrabBike at the same time?

No. You can only register 01 service type at the same time. For those who are GrabBike partner want to switch to GrabCar partner or vice versa, they need to terminate the contract then re-register.

03 Do I need to be constantly active? if I am not active, how long my account will be locked

If you did not open driver app to accept job within 03 months or 90 days, your account will be suspended. You need to re-submit some documents in order to get unbanned

04 For GrabCar, in case the car is not registered with your name, how could be the car owner’s document prepared?

If you are not a car owner: please be accompanied with car owner to register at GDC
If you are a car owner or permitted to use/ exploit the vehicle: please provide a car rental contract/ authorization contract or sales/ donation contract
1. For sales/donation contract: must be notarized and valid for no more than 01 month from the date of notarization
2. For car rental contract/ authorization contract: must be notarized and valid for no more than 06 months from the date of notarization, except the following cases:
  - Individuals with relationships as spouses/children/parents: Partners need to provide legal documents proving the relationship:
    - Birth certificate
    - Family registration book
    - Marriage certificate
    - Certificate of relations established by the Commune/Ward/Town People’s Committee
  - Individuals with companies / Individual business households: Partners shall provide car rental contract/ authorization contract having the signature of legal representative/ authorised persion and the company seal.

05 For GrabCar, how about cooperative documents such as cooperative business registration certificate and tax declaration 08?

You can research the information about the cooperation in the area where you registered HCM/HN to ask for permission if it fits the conditions of that cooperation. For documents such as business registration certificate and tax declaration 08, the cooperation will be responsible to providing it for you those after your participation.

06 For GrabCar, how can I change my car from a family car into a business car?

According to Decree 10/2020/ND-CP dated 17 Jan, 2020 of the Gorvernment on auto transport business and conditions for auto transport business, all cars registered with GrabCar must have a blackbox installed and display the co-op logo, contract car badge, and GrabCar sticker in order to operate.

As a result, interested car owners should first register with a participating cooperation to receive these documents. The cooperation will then provide instructions on how to convert your car from family to business along with inspection requirements.

07 For GrabCar, how long does the cooperative program last?

Based on the market situations at certain points of time, Grab will have appropriate programs, and 1 week before we change the program, we will inform you for any preparations.

08 For GrabCar, the bank keeps my car registration certificate, what should I do if I do not have the primary copy?

You can use a copy of car registration certificate having the bank’s seal and your mortgage receipt.

09 For GrabCar, what is the background check from DOJ / Criminal Record?

It is a document issued by the Department of Justice (or the National Center for Judicial Records), which provides information proving whether or not a person has a criminal record, sentence, or decision of court sanction.The Criminal Record helps to ensure the quality of the driver partners, increasing service reliability – the decisive factor for your income.

10 For GrabTaxi, what is the benefit I could get if using Grab app?

Grab is a transport booking app on smartphone that helps to connect passengers with the taxi drivers.

11 For GrabTaxi, what is the commission rate for GrabTaxi drivers

It depends on the city you are working in. GrabTaxi will apply the service fee. However, you don’t need to worry because this service fee is low & reasonable.

12 For GrabTaxi, how would the passengers pay?

The app informs the users the estimate fare. In fact, the passengers will pay based on the price shown on the taxi’s calculator.

Not neccessary, You can use any bike to register as long as you can provide original motobike registration certificate and other documents.
