Softer grades are often used for improved pumpability or low-temperature service, while harder grades are used where leakage or sealing are particular concerns.” 1 Like donpark January 8, 2020, 11:02pm 242 I’m not sure if 206g00 is thicker than 205g0 but it seems to grip the surface of UHMWPE and Cream stems better than 205g0. I ended up lubing the whole board of Cream switches with 206g00 last night and it feels great. Sounds better too. That said, I think 205g0 should be preferred over 206g00 unless the stem doesn’t take to lube well like the two I mentioned. 205 is PFPE oil thickened with PFPE that comes in varying mix ratio. g0 has less oil than g00. While g0 is slightly thicker than g00, I personally haven’t noticed much difference in switch feel. 2 Likes Rob27shred January 8, 2020, 11:17pm 243 So I was just messing around in preparation of tuning up that batch of Gat blacks I got & came across something that may significantly improve Gat linears. I forgot all about them & came across a batch of the Outemu no slot tight fitting tops I have. I tried a few on some Gat blacks & it makes a huge improvement in switch wobble without adding any scratchiness not present with the stock Gat top. Not sure if I’ll be able to film them with the tight tops, but it seems like I shouldn’t have too. Not only is slider wobble reduced, but so it top housing wobble with them. Gonna tune up a batch with the no slot tops & 60g springs this weekend, then set them up in my hotswap board. I’ll let you guys know what I think when I get around to it, but it seems solid so I figured I’d share for others to try out! 3 Likes donpark January 9, 2020, 5:33pm 244 Nope. That creamy 206g00 feel on Cream I mentioned is already starting to wear off. Damn disappointing. Or at the very least, the search continues. I tried using 204g0 on mine for now and while I feel a slight buttery feel after lubing, if I listen up close that scratchiness is always there regardless of what lube I use. donpark January 9, 2020, 5:45pm 246 Sounds about right. In my experience, lube can reduce scratchiness but cannot remove it entirely. Rob27shred January 9, 2020, 7:24pm 247 On the creams not taking lube well point, maybe try GPL107 on them. It is an oil instead of a grease, but is very thick & gives a very buttery feel on my Gat yellows. I can’t say for sure it’ll last longer than greases, although being a oil may benefit in that way. Like I can see the grease slowly being pushed down on creams & not coming back up well with the sliders, a thicker oil may allow more of the lube to return with the upstroke. Fair warning this is just an off the cuff ideal I just had, so try just a few in case it ends up not working well. 2 Likes nosferatoo January 9, 2020, 8:09pm 248 I’m still pretty happy with my creams (205g0), getting ready to film them. Still feels good although not as good as initially. Tried 106 on Cream. Pretty nice except it seems to increase the sticking sensation. Holding off on trying 107 for now. Tried 206g00 on Tealios and initial result is promising enough to test them in-use. donpark January 11, 2020, 3:58pm 256 Tried Tealios and Inks lubed with 206g00 in-use. Result was: not significantly creamier than 205g0 and sound suffered a bit in aluminum case + brass plate + ePBT keycap combo. Lower pitched but more muffled and mushier. While some may like it, I didn’t. I may use it on problematic modifiers though, to muffle annoying noise. I use this 80% of the time. Tealios - smooth and extra buttery. sound is what keeps me away. C3 Tangerine R2 w/Panda top - smooth, buttery and great sound. Ink - smooth, buttery and decent sound. C3 Tangerine R2 - smooth, buttery, and decent sound but less pleasant than Ink. UHMWPE+Aliaz - like Tealios but somehow less ‘wholesome’. I think smoothness beyond acceptable level is not important to me. What I seem to enjoy are: great sound, buttery feel, and what I can only describe as ‘wholesomeness’ which hybrids, other than Holy Panda, seem to lack. Could be psychological. Any worry of the scratchiness I had heard when bringing them up close to my ear are pretty much unfounded. Under practical use, the scratchiness is unnoticeable and the sound of typing on them is very pleasant. These switches type like a dream.
