Edge NYC in the futuristic skyscraper 30 Hudson Yards is one of the highest observation decks in New York and the highest open-air platform in the western hemisphere. The partly glass floor of the platform allows to 'float' 100 floors above ground, the sloped glass walls allow the namesake view over the edge (edge). Enjoy the breathtaking view over the city and treat yourself to a drink at the champagne bar. And maybe you dare to climb up the facade with City Climb?Hannah Gottlieb-KettlBy Hannah Gottlieb-KettlSelect a date to find available tickets, tours & activities:

4 tips for visiting the Edge NYC Observation Deck

Skyline in the Morning | Photo: Hannah Gottlieb-KettlSkyline in the Morning | Photo: Hannah Gottlieb-Kettl1Be sure to book in advanceEdge is one of the city's most popular attractions; tickets are therefore often sold out weeks in advance. Secure your timeslot soon to avoid disappointment.High Line Park | Photo: Hannah Gottlieb-KettlHigh Line Park | Photo: Hannah Gottlieb-Kettl2Wake up earlierIf you want to take photos in peace and enjoy the view, it is advisable to visit Edge in the morning. Sunset allows for spectacular snapshots, but it can get very crowded on the platform very quickly despite timed slots.3Be prepared for airy heightsSince the observation deck is located outdoors, it is often several degrees colder at this height than normal. In addition, the slanted glass walls offer no protection against the wind, which can be quite strong here. Dress a bit warmer to be able to enjoy the time. If the weather at your booked time does not match at all, you can rebook your ticket or use another offer through the Sky Assurance Weather Guarantee.4Take a walk in the surroundingsStroll through the Hudson Yards neighborhood after your visit above the clouds. Here you will also find the entrance to the High Line, a beautiful park that stretches for 2.7km from Chelsea to the Meatpacking District. An old freight railway track has been converted for this purpose, which means the walkway is located 7.5m above the ground.Do you dare? | Photo: Hannah Gottlieb-KettlDo you dare? | Photo: Hannah Gottlieb-Kettl

EDGE NYC - a 'must' during your visit to NYC

Edge NYC, also known as the Hudson Yards Observation Deck, was opened in 2020 and is an impressive viewpoint in New York City. This observation deck is located at a height of 335 meters (1,100 ft) and offers visitors a breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline and beyond.Edge by day | Photo: David VivesEdge by day | Photo: David Vives

Soaring high

New York is known for its skyscrapers. Even if the One World Trade Center offers the highest viewing platform in New York at 390m, Edge NYC impresses with the highest outdoor platform. At the same height, there are also the glass elevators of Summit One Vanderbilt, which, however, were designed more for adrenaline junkies than for those seeking peace and photography enthusiasts.Edge at Night | Photo: Chris TurgeonEdge at Night | Photo: Chris Turgeon

Leave your comfort zone

If you're especially daring, Edge NYC offers you a very special experience: City Climb is the highest outdoor climbing experience on a building worldwide. You have the opportunity to climb on the outside of a skyscraper at over 366 meters (1,200 ft) in height and then look down on New York. This unique adventure offers you an experience you will never forget in your life.

Not for the faint-hearted

There are some points you should avoid if you are afraid of heights. On Eastern Point, you stand at a corner of the platform as if you were ascending into the sky. Moreover, part of the platform’s floor is made of glass, so you can see people hundreds of meters below the deck. Elsewhere on the platform, you can still enjoy the view; you can also, of course, stay inside the building.

Photography allowed

Edge actively invites its guests to take pictures and share them with the hashtag #EdgeNYC on social media. There are always special photo spots or displays for this purpose. However, professional photo equipment is not allowed; arrangements for media use should be made in advance with the operating company.
