EN CR020A (Cu-PHC) Oxyben-Free Low-Phosphorus Copper
CR020A copper is a lightly alloyed grade of copper, formulated for casting. Cited properties are appropriate for the as-fabricated (no temper or treatment) condition. CR020A is the EN numeric designation for this material. Cu-PHC is the EN chemical designation.
It has a moderately low tensile strength among the cast coppers in the database.
The graph bars on the material properties cards below compare CR020A copper to: cast coppers (top), all copper alloys (middle), and the entire database (bottom). A full bar means this is the highest value in the relevant set. A half-full bar means it's 50% of the highest, and so on.

Alloy Composition
Among cast copper alloys, the composition of CR020A copper is notable for including silver (Ag) and bismuth (Bi). Silver is used to increase recrystallization temperature in copper alloys. This permits operation at higher temperatures without permanent loss of mechanical properties. Bismuth improves machinability and pressure tightness. It is used a non-toxic but more expensive replacement for lead.
| Copper (Cu)Cu | 99.95 to 99.999 |
| Silver (Ag)Ag | 0 to 0.015 |
| Phosphorus (P)P | 0.0010 to 0.0060 |
| Lead (Pb)Pb | 0 to 0.0050 |
| Bismuth (Bi)Bi | 0 to 0.00050 |
All values are % weight. Ranges represent what is permitted under applicable standards.
