5aq1b 5 Hi Tried searching about google for this, but does anyone know off the top what the engine oil capacity is for a mk5 2.0 TDi 05 plate Golf? #1 · Mar 10, 2010 Hi Tried searching about google for this, but does anyone know off the top what the engine oil capacity is for a mk5 2.0 TDi 05 plate Golf? Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Mar 15, 2010 On my 06 1.9TDI it took just over 5 Litres. If you drain it and replace the oil filter, it will be closer to 6. Not sure if this is the same with your 2.0TDI - Info should be in your handbook! #3 · Mar 15, 2010 dont know if this will help, but the 1.4s 80ps needs 3.2 liters of oil #4 · Mar 16, 2010 It's 3.8 litres on the 2005 GT Tdi (140) and also on the 2008 GT Sport Tdi (140). A tip I once read- when refilling after an oil change. Assuming you have a four litre can of oil (either 0W/30 to VW spec 506.01 (non DPF) or 5W/30 to spec 504.00/507.00) pour 500 ml into a clean bottle. You can then safely refill the engine with the remaining 3.5 litres. Then, after running the engine briefly, top up as necessary from the remaining 500 ml. This should avoid over-filling. I hope this helps Regards. Beddo #5 · Mar 16, 2010 It's 4.5 litres for all diesel engines in the Mk5 (excluding 170bhp version). #6 · Apr 7, 2010 In reply to nr123 I am afraid that 4.5 litres is incorrect. How can I be so sure? I have changed the oil several times on my 2005 and 2008 Golf with the 2.0 TDi (140) non-DPF engine. Do you have the various booklets that came with the car (tucked away in a slot in the glove locker)? If so look in section 3.3 Technical Data, page 20. The TDi (140) 103Kw engine is given as 3.8L non-DPF and 4.3L- DPF. I do think though that the varying capacities are confusing and the booklet needs to be read very carefully. Even VW dealers can get it wrong. My 2005 GT was refilled with 4.3L at one service which took the level well over the maximum, and I had to take it back for some oil to be removed. #7 · Apr 7, 2010 My information is from the Haynes manual. #8 · Apr 7, 2010 on the DPF equipped 170, the oil capacity is 42 Litres ( top up every month) [:#] Insert Quotes Post Reply
