Error Code '0d'! Please Help!

Hey guys, I can't seem to wrap my head around this one. I'm making a new build and can't seem to get to it to POST.

Here are my specs: GIGABYTE AX370X GAMING K7 Motherboard (replaced already) AMD Ryzen 7 1800X (replaced already) Corsair 16GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM * 4 (MOBO can support, on QVL) Corsair RMX 1000W Power EVGA GeForce 1080ti GPU ThermalTake 120mm RGB Fan * 4 ThermalTake 360mm RGB CPU Water Cooler Cougar Panzer Max Ultimate Tower Toshiba 5TB HDD WD Blue 500GB SSD Here is my predicament. Everytime I boot, I get a 0d error code and the 'BOOT' LED light is illuminated. Let me run through a list of things I have already tried: 1. Clear CMOS. Reboot. '0d' error. 2. Replace CPU. '0d' error. 3. Replace MOBO. '0d' error. 4. Remove 2&4 RAM. '0d' error. 5. Remove 1&3 RAM. '0d' error. 6. Remove HDD. '0d' error. 7. Remove SSD. '0d' error. 8. Remove HDD/SSD. '0d' error. 9. Remove GPU. '0d' error. 10. Remove all other PCIe devices. '0d' error. 11. Clear CMOS. Remove battery. Wait 15 minutes. '0d' error. 12. Replace RAM with non-QVL RAM. '0d' error. What in the world will actually fix this? I have read many different things claiming to fix this, but not ONE of them works. And before anyone says BIOS update. NO. I can't even LOAD into BIOS to update or change settings in the first place. And the vendor is taking FOREVER to reply. Please, somebody help. So if the error has been coming up while your monitor was attached to your GPU then try it without GPU and attach the monitor direct to your Mobo instead #4 · Oct 6, 2017 Quote:

The monitor is trying to source between hdmi and analog. There is no display whatsoever, essentially. #5 · Oct 6, 2017 Quote:

Please try using another cable and/or another HDMI port, you can also try using display port instead if you have a display port cable and your monitor supports it. I have seen similar posts before which turns out to be a bad cable. Please see if the Q-code changes from 0d to something else when you hit F1 on your keyboard, if it does then it's a bad/old cable or maybe a bad connection that causes the error. #9 · Oct 6, 2017 Quote:

Okay I will try the F1 combination. But I have three separate monitors, each tried in the hdmi port on the built-in and the hdmi/display port on the gpu. Neither works. I'm going to get an hdmi to vga cable (for the monitors as they support vga and hdmi) and see if that works. #10 · Oct 6, 2017 Quote:

Your CPU does not have a GPU build in, using the ports on the back of the motherboard makes no sense. not me, lol. I have seen that post before and pretty much tried all those steps. One thing on this post suggests (https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GTX-1080-FTW-8-8-PIN-Installation-question-m2521071.aspx) that says instead of using the 8 pin to two 6+2 pins for the EVGA graphics card, use two 8 pin to 6+2 or two 8 pin to 8 pin, that the video card may not be getting enough power. #13 · Oct 7, 2017 Jeez man... you've replaced all your core components such as CPU, motherboard and RAM and yet ending up with the same error. That is very unlucky, and definitely unusual. At this point, would you think that it might be your powersupply not providing the correct voltages / current to your set up? I am no PSU expert but at this point... you've replaced everything that could be wrong except of the powersupply. I understand that the system "turns on" but does not go through the post process, I might be looking at the PSU providing the incorrect voltages / current and having your motherboard to throw the 0d error. And hopefully this will help anyone in the future that comes with this same error code. To recap, I was receiving a 0d error code on the motherboard when trying to boot after I built my PC. It would not boot into BIOS. No display on any monitors, etc. I attempted to: replace the motherboard, replace the CPU, swap out the RAM, remove the GPU (and running on the MOBO), remove all PCIe devices. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Kept receiving the same error code. FIX: This is where it gets weird. So remember when I removed the GPU and I was still receiving the same 0d error code? Problem is, you can't use a single 8-pin to two 6+2 pin cables for the EVGA GeForce 1080 TI. The video card needs TWO SEPARATE power supplies. Either two 8-pin to 8-pin cables or two 8-pin to two 6+2 pin cables will work. Plugged each in individually and boom, powered up with no issues whatsoever.

I hope this helps anyone in the future that receives this same generic error code. #16 · Oct 10, 2017 That's very weird, you have a 1000w corsair PSU that should be more than capable of running. sad thing is that you already went through all that hassle while having a possibility that your old parts that you replaced were perfectly fine. anyways... here we are now with your problem sorted. I run my 1080 Ti with two separate cables but I also recall running more power hungry cards from a single 6+2 / 8 pin power and things worked fine. Having a backup / test card is always handy so when you encounter situations like this, you would throw in the test card to minimize issues. I am glad we managed to route you to the correct direction, good luck now and enjoy your new system. #17 · Feb 20, 2018

Please someone help I'm having the exact same problem have done EVERYTHING in this post and more. My build is: Ryzen 1700x CPU ASUS Crosshair VI hero mobo GTX 1080 MSI armor GPU Samsung evo 960 250 gig M.2 EVGA G3 750 wat PSU Deep cool 360 mm radiator part of Genome II case My computer was working fine for months no issues. Then one day decided to stop displaying the screen. I Trouble shot this issue earlier by switching ram slots, moving my GPU on the MOBO, clearing the CMOS, used a different GPU and reset the bios settings and then my computer started working again. Computer worked fine for a couple days, I downloaded a new game, worked fine, then the next day my computer shot a 24 code and then after trying to repeat the steps that fixed it before, the 0d code appeared and has not worked since. My GPU works in different computers and a different GPU also works in mine. But miraculously, my GPU refuses to work in my computer. I have done everything to try and fix this issue. Everytime I boot I get a 0d error code and the monitor shows the gigabyte logo but nothig happens. After pressing ne powerbutton again the system immediately turns off! but!! after this i press the powerbutton again the system starts normal and works all day long. After shuting down the system and starting it later or the next day is starts from the beginning with od code, tun off, tun on, workin.... i tryd everything i found in google... Please somebody help me and i´m sorry for my english

#20 · Jan 19, 2021 For anyone else that has this 0d error. I fixed it simply by swapping from DisplayPort cable to hdmi cable. It appears sometimes cables can have problems and cause this issue. Simple fix but has taken me 3 days of pulling my hair out. Insert Quotes Post Reply
