1 Children aged 6-142 Validity max. 120 minutes Children aged 0-5 travel for free. Details subject to change. This ticket is also available for Brandenburg an der Havel, Potsdam, Cottbus and Frankfurt an der Oder. Prices and information are available in the VBB tariff system.

- VBB app (buy online tickets)
- Ticket machines (incl. BVG)
- S-Bahn customers centers
- All sales points
Where and how long the ticket is valid:
- For all public transport services (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, regional train, tram, ferry and bus).
- You can upgrade your existing ticket for Berlin AB or Berlin BC as required by buying an extension ticket for Berlin C or Berlin A respectively.
- Extension tickets are not issued for journeys that start and end in Berlin C without entering Berlin B.
- Extension tickets for a single ticket are valid for 120 minutes after validation. However, they can only be used in conjunction with a main ticket and their validity expires when the main ticket's validity expires. The extension ticket for a day ticket is valid for any number of journeys from validation until 03:00 hrs the following day. As of 01.01.2021, the following applies: Validity for an extension 24-hour ticket after validation or for a full 24 hours from the start of validity printed on the ticket.
- The holder of a single extension ticket may make a single journey towards their destination and change as many times as required, always taking the first connecting service. However, return journeys and round trips are not permitted.
- To use the extension ticket Potsdam - Berlin AB, you must be the holder of a main ticket for the tariff zones Potsdam AB or Potsdam BC or Potsdam ABC. The extension ticket then entitles you to travel to a destination in the direction of the Berlin AB tariff zone or the Potsdam tariff zone.
Free travel, pets and transporting items:
Nobody can accompany the ticket holder for free.
Children aged 0-5 travel for free.
Anyone who wants to transport a bicycle must buy a bicycle ticket that matches their ticket type.
Animals the size of a domestic cat and smaller do not need a ticket.
Dogs cannot be taken free of charge on this ticket. You will need a discounted extension ticket to take a dog.
The holder can transport luggage for free.
The holder can transport wheelchairs or prams/buggies for free.

Fare zones
The tariff area of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) includes the federal state of Berlin and the state of Brandenburg with its administrative districts and independent cities of Brandenburg, Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam.
Berlin and the surrounding regions are divided into fare zones a, b and c gegliedert.
Fare zone Berlin a includes the city center of Berlin, including the S-Bahn-Ring.
Fare zone Berlin b begins outside the S-Bahn ring and reaches to the city limits.
Fare zone Berlin c includes both the outskirts of Berlin and the city of Potsdam.

Yes. You must validate this ticket before travel. The validator for stamping tickets is located next to ticket machines on platforms, and on board buses and trams.
Do I need an extension ticket for each person I take with me on my group ticket for school students? | Extension ticket
Yes. If you want to use your group day ticket for school students so that you and other people can travel but you are not in your ticket's zones, you need to buy and validate an extension ticket for each person.
