I have been using fastarc-g1(2.0) since last week, and I absolutely love it, its one of the most spiniest, and controllable rubber, way better than any of the recent tensors I have tried.Baracuda and G1 are from the same tensor generation(with natural rubber topsheet), would anyone who has used them both, be able to compare them?

I'm interested in this as well. I've been using Baracuda lately and think I might like it to be a little bit harder and I've heard G-1 is similar.

I haven't tried G1, but the first wave of porous Tensor(late 2009), Hexer, Baracuda, Genius, Rakza 7, Vega Pro etc., were pretty much identical. It wasn't until 2011, namely the Hexer HD, Acuda S1 Turbo, Tenzone Ultra etc. that I noticed differentiation between brands. 2012 was probably the year that all the different brands truly fleshed out their product features from each other. The 2013 refresh was, in my opinion, the year with the last noticeable change, when the Evolution series launched. 2014 onward and people finally got fed up with the cash grab.
Viscaria FL - 91g + Neo H3 2.15 Blk - 44.5g(55.3g uncut bare) + Hexer HD 2.1 Red - 49.3g(68.5g 〃 〃) = 184.8g

Played with G1 for more than a year till late spring this year, then EJ bug took over and I dallied with EL-S and HypeKr for 2 months, and then went back to G1. Sadly, neither EL-S nor HypeKr have anything that makes them better rubbers than G1. There's a reason G1 is a top seller in Japan.

How does g1 compare to mxp?Afaik, mxp is/was the shining contender to tenergy, and the most popular rubber outside tenergy, globally.

I don't think this is true, but I may be wrong - I thought G1 was from a later generation (the 2011 HD generation).Baracuda is slower and is for people who want to play with extreme kick and brush on their shots. It probably doesn't fit many game styles for players who want to play over 2400 today and the game style it facilitated (heavy spin with great control) has been hurt by the plastic ball for the commercial version of Baracuda. But if you like to play with spin on EVERY stroke, then Baracuda is your rubber, but the low speed may drive you crazy. But if you want your ball to kick on every shot, I don't think there is any other rubber like it. The thing about Baracuda is that the way it behaves is not the way a regular rubber that most people like does all the time, so you almost never play flat shots with it. And when you play what should be a flat shot, you almost always have to apply *some* spin.
I like putting heavy topspin on the ball...Garaydia ALCFH: D80BH: D80Lumberjack TT, not for lovers of beautiful strokes. No time to train...

Release date for Fastarc series:G1 - 2010/7/21S1 - 2011/3/21C1 - 2012/11/21P1 - 2015/6/1From my recent little research.
Viscaria FL - 91g + Neo H3 2.15 Blk - 44.5g(55.3g uncut bare) + Hexer HD 2.1 Red - 49.3g(68.5g 〃 〃) = 184.8g

So maybe Nittaku got on that ESN generation late? I think more and more people are realizing that the Hexer etc. generation is worth trying with the plastic ball especially at the amateur level.

Baracuda works amazingly well with Falco Tempo Long - you won't find any speed deficiencies then. You shall then make an effort to ditch T05 (if you are a T05 user) on price grounds.G1 hasa bit harder sponge. Another very similar rubber from that generation is the Rakza 7.I prefer the newer generation stuff though.

Given the release date, the G1 would belong to the Hexer+, Acuda S1, Genius+ Optimum etc., which were minor tuneups for more speed.Still, the descriptions for G1 position it as a high-grip rubber with a high arc. So, I agree they were late to the party.https://www.nittaku.com/catalog/2017en/top.htmlEdited by zeio - 10/27/2017 at 9:41am
