grovesi G Can anyone help? I bought my 59 plate BMW in Jan 2011. After a while I had problems with rough running and took it back to BMW who replaced the knock sensor under warranty. After a week it was still the same so I took it back again and they replaced 4 ignition coils and the spark plugs Feb 2012. The car seemed to run ok for a while but the problem was still there intermittently. I took it to a BMW specialist who hooked it up to the computer which returned the following codes - 30C1 Engine oil pressure control, static & 29CE combustion misfires, cylinder 2. The garage suggested replacing all 4 injectors and/or the coils and plugs. I took it to another specialist for a second opinion and they advised that it was not necessary to replace all 4 injectors and to just replace injector 2. Due to the cost, I went for this option. It improved short term but is still not right so I took it to a 3rd garage this month who hooked it up and found the following faults- 30C1 engine oil pressure control, static & 3104 - rough running, stratified - charge mode. This garage suggested driving the car at 70 + mph for 30 mins to reset the catalytic converter. I did this and there was a definite improvement however, this was short lived and the problem has returned in less than 2 weeks. My biggest concern is that all garages seem to be ignoring the 30C1 fault - engine oil pressure control, static. does anyone know what causes this fault code?? Also, should we really need to replace the coils and plugs again when they we only done 2 years ago. Typical mileage is 8000 per year and the clock is only on 40,000 miles. We are seriously thinking of getting rid of the car for fear that it will continue to cost us money to repair if this is a recurring fault. Maybe I missed it but is it a 328 or 335? Don't see how you could get through such a long explanation without saying what model it was. And are you even in the US because all we have are 6 cylinders here. The model number would help in any case . We didn't get 4 cylinders till a couple of years ago in the three series and its in the F30 model. What is this 59 plate thing? #3 · Jun 29, 2014 (Edited) Point taken, sorry bit of a novice at this. I am in the UK - didn't realise this was a US site. The model is a 318i petrol (E90). 59 plate is the year, second release in 2009 #4 · Jun 30, 2014 (Edited) Its not striclty a US site but about 95% Its not strictly a US site but about 95% of the threads are US based. hi I have just read your report and I am curious to know If you ever got to the cause of the problem and equally as important did you get the issues 30C1 fault code fixed! Did a change of the injector/s help and or did you replace the oil pump. Insert Quotes Post Reply
