Need replacement pads for my BR-M8000 Shimano XT 2-piston calipers. So many choices! Any suggestions on your favorite pads for all-around Trail Duty? Also are the pads compatible between all the XT/XTR lineups, new and old? M8000/9000 and M8100/9100? The ceramic pro pads are amazing. Lots of bite even when wet and don't squeal too much when wet too. I'm waiting for the trails to dry up to try out MTX Red Label pads. Not cheap but they look promising. #3 · Apr 2, 2020 J04C are my favorite although I've used G04Ti as well. I don't do resin #4 · Apr 3, 2020 I've tried various brands and compounds over the years. I always come back to Shimano's J04C's on the trail bike, and J02A's on the XC bike. Any decent pad I've tried worked. And honestly, differences were negligible. On the trail bike (J04C's), the only two things that stood out were less fade, and they're the quietest in all conditions. On the XC bike, I notice even less differences between brands. It does seem that Shimano pads last a little longer. Of course, all of this is subjective... I use Ice-Tech rotors exclusively these days, if that maters. Insert Quotes Post Reply
