Five years of 'Theri': Here are five favorite mass scenes from Vijay and Atlee's first film

Vijay surprised everyone when he announced to join hands with young director Atlee for 'Theri'. The first look poster raised the expectation among the fans as Vijay was spotted in two different looks. The cop action drama was released for the 2014 Tamil New Year, and it turned out to be a blockbuster hit. Vijay then again teamed up with Atlee in back-to-back films. Today, the film completed five years of its release. So on the special day, let's take a look at the five favorite mass scenes from Vijay and Atlee's first film.

Police station scene

Joseph Kuruvila (Vijay) lives with his daughter as a simple businessman in a village in Kerala by hiding his identity. After the accident of his daughter, Joseph Kuruvila was forced to go to the police station to withdraw the complaint filed by the school teacher (Amy Jackson). The police inspector identifies Joseph Kuruvila and calls his real name to check him. Vijay stops for a second, and there comes a mass moment. Atlee has projected a few glimpses of Vijay as a cop, and fans get eager to see him as a cop.

Rain fight

Rowdies try to attack Joseph Kuruvila and his daughter due to their complaint. Vijay behaves so politely to them and pleads to them. But he suddenly turns vigorous when the rowdies try to enter the home. There comes a mass fight scene in the rain, and GV Prakash's powerful music takes the scene to the next level.

Hanging the criminal under the bridge

After getting into the flashback, Vijay impresses fans with his cop avatar as an IPS officer Vijay Kumar. Vijay then inquires about a rape case and calmly murders the culprit by hagging him upside down under the bridge. Vijay's surprise act stuns the fans.

Vijay diving from a 30feet bridge

Joseph Kuruvila (Vijay) was identified by the antagonist and his daughter's school van fell into a river. Vijay then dives from a 30 feet bridge to save his daughter. Vijay has really jumped from 30 feet while making the scene in a reservoir. Vijay's phone call with the antagonist after saving his daughter, and accepting the challenge is an enjoyable scene for the fans.

Vijay returns as a cop

After Vijay's flashback and accepting the challenge made by the antagonist, Vijay returns as an IPS officer Vijay Kumar. He takes on the policemen who supported the antagonist at first, and he utters his famous dialogue 'I am waiting' in a new style. Vijay then destroys the opponents and sends some social messages about parenting.
