What's wrong with this other than being very expensive for a martingale EA : Full version MetaTrader 4 https://www.mql5.com/ru/market/product/28140 ? 1

It's a special price for people to take for free. This EA is available for free. But in this thread I don't want to talk about it. I want to write a good robot for everyone together. Trader programmer for more than 20 years! 1

The thing is that the full version has some features that would be needed in the free version, such as being able to adjust the martingale multiplier and being able to add initial lots instead of using martingale. 1

Time Filter, Max lots and max trades would also probably be quite useful. Maybe also letting the ea add trades to the trending direction. It is difficult to test and try to improve without having several options in the EA. Right now you cannot really adjust much anything. Nice EA though. 1

For comparison here are two backtests with USDJPY, starting lot 0.1, one with martingale multiplier 2.0 and the other one with multiplier 1.2. Test is from 2017.01.09 to date. 2.0: Attached Image (click to enlarge) Attached Image (click to enlarge) Max lots 25.60 1.2: Attached Image (click to enlarge) Attached Image (click to enlarge) Max lots 1.03 Since the max lots with MG 2.0 is being hit only once and even 3.2 lots just a couple of times, it would probably make sense to limit the max lots to around 3 in order to reduce DD. However, with the multiplier 1.2 you could use a higher initial lot and still keep the DD relatively low. 2

How do you set the limit for the max lots in the EA. I don't see that as an input option? 1

OK...good tests with nice modeling quality...! Max. lotsize/max. trade sequence should be a conditio sine qua non on this kind of EAs! That would probably have reduced the high DD but perhaps also the profit a bit but still tolerable I guess... I never lose - either I win or I learn... 1
