In this review, we will be comparing the X-T100 and the X-T20, two Entry-Level Mirrorless cameras by Fujifilm. Fujifilm X-T100 was introduced to the market in May 2018 and Fujifilm X-T20 was launched in January 2017. There is 16 months difference between X-T100 and X-T20 so we don't expect to see a huge technology difference between these two cameras but it would still give an advantage to younger X-T100, especially in sensor tech.

Here is a brief look at the main features of the Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20 before getting into our more detailed comparison.

Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs. In this section, we are going to illustrate the Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Fujifilm X-T100 has external dimensions of 121 x 83 x 47 mm (4.76 x 3.27 x 1.85″) and weighs 448 g (0.99 lb / 15.80 oz) (including batteries). Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day. Fujifilm X-T20 is significantly lighter (65g ) than the Fujifilm X-T100 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.

Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20 have the same Fujifilm X lens mount and APS-C sized sensors, lenses will not be a differentiator on total size of the system.

X-T100 X-T20 Min Average Max Weather Sealing

Unfortunately neither the Fujifilm X-T100 nor Fujifilm X-T20 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections: Top Mirrorless Cameras with Weather Sealing

LCD Screen Size and Features

Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.

Both cameras feature Tilting screens where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels.

Both Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20 have APS-C sized 24.0 MP resolution sensors so sensor size and resolution is not a differentiator between these two cameras.

One other difference between these two cameras that is worth mentioning is that Fujifilm X-T20's sensor doesn't have an anti-alias (Low-Pass) filter. Removing anti-alias filter increases the sharpness and level of detail but at the same time, it increases the chance of moiré occurring in certain scenes.

Below you can see the X-T100 and X-T20 sensor size comparison.

Sensor Size and Resolution Comparison image of Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20 Cameras

Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20 have almost the same sensor size, so neither of them has any significant advantage over the other in terms of providing control over depth of field when used with the same focal length and aperture.

The number of available lenses is a big deciding factor when choosing your interchangeable lens camera. Fujifilm X-T100 and Fujifilm X-T20 have the same Fujifilm X lens mount and currently there are 117 native lenses available for these cameras.

Another important factor is the availability of image stabilization. None of these bodies have sensor based image stabilization so you have to buy lenses with Optical stabilization feature. Currently there are 20 lenses with Image stabilization for Fujifilm X mount.
