DrJohnptasz I've been trying to get a full front black grill (no chrome) for my 2014 v40 without success. Does anyone know a good place to source one? #1 · Aug 25, 2020 I've been trying to get a full front black grill (no chrome) for my 2014 v40 without success. Does anyone know a good place to source one? Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Aug 26, 2020 apart from the bumber removal, its quite straightforwards to remove the grille, separate the chrome and paint gloss black. or, mask up carefully.... #3 · Aug 26, 2020 If you decide to make it, don't forget to post before - after shots, Cheers #4 · Aug 28, 2020 I know it's a matter of taste but isn't this beautiful? I photoshopped the grill just to see how the grill was going to look like and I loved it! The next day I spray painted the chrome frame black and I'm so happy with it! If you want a great permanent result you can either spray paint it with a base coat and then put a layer of clear on it. Or you can go for plast-dip or chrome delete. :) 17117 #5 · Aug 30, 2020 looks great, nice to see a CC in its natural habitat too:) #6 · Sep 6, 2020 I had mine wrapped in matt black. 17130 #7 · Sep 6, 2020 That's similar to what I want, only I want the badge black too. Only the blue volvo surround will stay #8 · Sep 7, 2020 You are right. I'm going to plasti dip the badge and keep the logo blue aswell. Wrapping the badge is impossible. #9 · Sep 7, 2020 remember the old ford ovals... you could carefully sand the blue away from the back, and apply paint of your choice... #10 · Sep 8, 2020 I just spray painted the chrome frame. 17135 #11 · Sep 24, 2020 I plasti-dip my volvo badge too. I prefer to do it with the grill uninstalled, but it's a bit dificult to take it off in my opinion... bumper out, head lights and at last the grill #14 · Oct 22, 2020 I wouldn't bother doing all that. Just have the Chrome trim wrapped like i did, and plasti-dip the logo. We didn't remove anything. Chrome trim was wrapped with the grill still in place #15 · Oct 26, 2020 Here is link of another user who painted front Chrome trim. www.volvov40club.com

Chrome delete / dechroming

Hi, I'm new here and I've been looking to a similar question since hours on this very interesting forum, but I didn't find any. I've a white Volvo V40 R-design, with glossy black rims for the winter. I would love to dechrome the following parts of the car and make them gloss black: Window... www.volvov40club.com www.volvov40club.com I am more interested in making the front lower bumper matte trim pieces in Gloss black, kind of like the carbon edition. Not sure if wrapping it will do it since its textured. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G965F met Tapatalk Insert Quotes Post Reply
